Care to elaborate?

Bazooka_4ME

Why do I need to elaborate? But, for request I will. 1) Saying that having to change discs for a multi disc game is too much work is just plain wrong. If you can't take 20 seconds to change a disc you have issues. 2) If $4/month is too expensive, then gaming is not for you. 3) Uncharted 2 is not the best looking game ever, Crysis is. End of story, no argument. 4) Bluray is not need for games. Many games like Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 fit more features on a DVD9 than most PS3 exclusives do on a bluray disc. 5) PSN is not great because it is free. It is poorly integrated and is frequently down or experiencing issues. Xbox Live and thus Xbox in general wins. Need I say more or do you finally agree I am correct?

1) It IS too much work. Hello! Generations are suppose to move forward with EASE not remain with "please".. 2) $4 is too much if you can only afford $299.95. Also it's $7 not $4. 3) Uncharted 2 is the best looking game on a console. Actually it's Killzone 2 (that lemmings can't accept which is why it's still being the talk of SW when it comes to graphics. Also read the topic title pal 4) Blu-ray IS needed for games. Basically anything that has a higher quality than an outdated DVD9 is better not just blu-ray. 5) PSN is great because it's free. Whatever you do on Live, I can do better on the PSN even better and doesn't cause me a drop of milkage.

Thank-you for refuting my claims, but please sit back and prepare to be destroyed. 1) Changing discs is not too much work. Do you still have Haze in your PS3 since you refuse to change discs? 2) If you can only afford $299.95 then you won't be able to buy any games for the PS3. I saw a new 360 for $129.99 yesterday which leaves plenty of money for games. Also $59.99/13 months is $4.61. Saying it is $7 is wrong and thus your credibility is gone for the rest of your points. 3) Fine, if you want to ignore games like Crysis, then you have to agree that Mass Effect, Gears of War and plenty of other games are Xbox 360 exclusive. If you want to exclude PC for graphics, exclude it for games too. 4) Please list a game that provides the sheer number of features and gameplay elements that Halo 3 managed to fit onto a DVD9. You cannot. 5) Does PSN have Netflix integration? No thus your claims are now ruined and false. Also, Xbox Live is integrated much better than PSN for ease of use and that is a fact you cannot deny. Plus, if that drop of milkage is too much for you then you shouldn't have enough money to buy games or possible lunch.

What battle? All I ever see from Sony fanboys is:

  • changing discs is impossible
  • Xbox Live at around $4/month is too expensive
  • Uncharted 2 is the best looking game ever
  • Bluray is needed for games
  • PSN is great because it is free

All of these points are brought up again and again and they are all wrong. Xbox 360 has won now and for the future.

I have enjoyed the beta and will surely get it. At least it is coming out at a definite date. ;)

Number of visitors does not equate to quality of reviews. Frankly, Gamespot has the worst reviews out of all the major and some minor gaming sites. I stopped reading them years ago and will only look at them when I need a laugh. The God of War 3 review is a perfect example because at times I makes me feel that I was reading something created by The Onion. The only reason I even visit Gamespot is because they have managed to put together a pretty good forum system. For reviews I mostly rely on GiantBomb and IGN, although I have been disagreeing with IGN more often lately.

I have all 3 consoles, but in reality I have a gaming console, a bluray player, and a grey rectangular shaped GameCube. I am sure you can link up the consoles with their descriptions. The reason I don't play my PS3 or Wii that much (if at all) is because both have a below average game library and terrible controllers when compared the the Xbox 360. The few exclusives I own for the PS3 (ie. Killzone 2, God of War 3, Uncharted 2, and Resistance 2) are all at a lower caliber than the exclusives on the Xbox 360. Plus, I had to pay $180 when my PS3 died only after a year and a weak which has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

KZ2 not doing as well as it was hyped to has nothing to do with COD or any other franchise.

edo-tensei
you probably don't play your ps3 much. I have over 60 random people as friends and every time I log in all I see is people playing one of the three popular cod games (by that I mean cod4, waw, and mw2). So the tc has a point imo.

If Killzone 2 was a good game, then people would play it over Call of Duty. But, the fact of the matter is that it is not that good of a game and people stopped playing it. Call of Duty has nothing to do with Killzone 2 being bad, only Killzone 2 does.

[QUOTE="tbolt76"] Where's your proof? Prove to me that COD caused KZ2 not to sell. Look at BFBC2, that had no trouble selling, even with MW2 being released about 6 months ago. At the time KZ2 was released, what else was there that was less than 6 months old? WAW? What else? By your logic, BFBC2 shouldn't have sold well because of MW2. GOW3 should not have sold well because of Bayonetta. I could go on and on. A good game would sell regardless. Instead of blaming COD or any other franchise for the "lack" of KZ2 sales, why not blame KZ 1?tbolt76

I'm not saying Call Of Duty caused KZ2 not to sell. I'm saying that KZ2 didn't sell because it didn't play like Call Of Duty. Two different ideas.

I'm trying to find out if the reason people didn't like KZ2 because it didn't control like COD or if they didn't like it just because they thought it was a crappy game.

Basically it's a question of if they played the same, would KZ2 have sold better? Or if COD controls and response didn't exist would it have sold better due to having no basis for comparison? Would it have sold better if it wasn't exclusive?

I'm just trying to see what people's views are on what could've been done to increase the game's sales. Imagine YOU'RE the publisher. What would you have suggested they do differently?

Maker the game more interesting. I have it and got bored of it withing 3 weeks. Tried to go back to it several times, especially after seeing all of the praise and awards and still meh. That is my opinion of course, but I am willing to bet that I am not the lone person who has played/owns KZ2 that feels this way. Make a better game and it will sell, period.

Hear, hear! It seems that we owners of both a 360 and PS3 are able to get a pretty good grasp of what Killzone 2 really is. I am not saying it is a bad game, but it definitely is not a good game and not 9.0 material. Sure it looks nice, but it plays like junk.

What? Dragon Age would never be finished in a rental. And KZ2's multiplayer is plenty fun, have you bothered to actually play it? Heavy Rain? I'm gonna be replaying that quite a bit. And then for single player games with longevity, what, did inFamous, FF13, and LBP stop existing?Skittles_McGee
How can you replay Heavy Rain? I have tried to go back through it again after finishing it the first time and I lose my concentration after around 15 minutes of play.
