Hi all, i just got hellgate london today and im realy enjoying it accept.... the video quality of the game for me is NOT what it is supposed to be. The video is realy laggy, and the graphics look like a ps1 game so.. ya. I know thats not how a game with all the newest and greatest graphics technology is supposed to look like. So i go on the hellgate support site and check on my graphics card spec, ive got all the updated drivers and such, but i think the real problem is my graphics card itself. My computer is about 3-4 years old, with ATI chips and XP processor. When the comp was purchased it was a very nice computer for its time but i think its getting old but anyway here are the specs for the card.

Most of this stuff is beyond me, but something i can tell is that 256 MB is a little low for a graphics card for playing a game like hellgate (right? lol), but i realy like the game so could some1 suggest a way for me to update without spending much money,or mabee a way to tone down the game to stoop down to this card's lvl.

Mabee hellgate London, the games realy good even though some ppl say its not, but there just retards that are basing the game off the demo which errr sucks lol.

Glad to see that some1 is enjoying the game everyone seems to be just rateing the game off the demo which ummm.... doesnt realy give a good representation of the game, but im glad some1 has decided to give a legitimat review that actualy gives facts about the game. I've realy been looking for a good review seeing that gamespot hasnt put a reveiw up.

I think i've been thoroughly convenced toget the game, but im still wondering about the benefits of subscribing, so i would realy appreciate if some1 would fill me in. :D

I've accepted the fact that there will always be, well, how can I say this without getting this thread locked...Unsavory people, on the servers, on both Horde and Alliance. On Alliance it was always the kids and teenagers causing the trouble. On Horde the people were either too serious about the game or were simply sour adults.

Now I want to get this kind of enjoyment out of WoW again. WoW is a great game, regardless of what people say, and I want to play it again sometimes soon. But, thats why I'm posting. I need some tips on how to do this right.

1.) What race should I be? Preferably something that people wouldnt make fun of, and with a cool mount and such.

2.) What class should I be? I prefer something like a Warrior due to the toughness and melee combat, but I'm up for new things. I might try out a Rogue to see what plain out DPSing is like, but I like to feel a bit more useful. I understand DPS is vital to any good group, but I feel kind of uncapabable when I cant hold the enemies well or help my teammates out.

3.) Alliance or Horde? I understand raiding on Horde would probably be easier due to somewhat more mature players, but since I prefer Battlegrounds over raiding a lot of the time, either might be fitting, but that also goes back to the race question.

I'll post again if I have any more questions.

i'm in exactly the same boat you're in. Personally, i'm waiting my school year to get back to the game. You should just try out each class, as each one is unique. Paladins are SUPRISINGLY fun to play, you never die; although you have to sacrifice DPS.

I had a night elf hunter, and i enjoy the play style, u know in the backround doing dps, but seeing hat your play style is to be more of an important roll, i would recomend being a drenei shamman, because thay can help a group in almost all aspects of the game. And by the way i would recomend going alliance because i have friends with high lvl horde characters and they dont enjoy the game as much becausetheyaremore into groups and dungeons, and the horde's majority of charactersare into pvp. So your faction realy just depends on your play style.

If your up for trying out the healing roll, i would recomend going with a preist, preferabley shaddow with a few holy specs. The thing people dont realize is shadow preists heal almost just as well as holy preists, holy preists just have a few more healing tricks up there sleaves.

So whichever way you go, and how it turns out i know how you feel with the whole maxing out thing. I currently am about to buy Hellgate London. I've just finished with the demo and am very satisfied with the general way the games going (the demo's graphics and framerate wasnt that great but i know that the actual game is alot better), and if things dont go well with WoW, ring me up on Hellgate =].

I agree that the game is somewhat dissapointing from what I expected it to be so far, but I just started playing and its already getting more interesting by the minute. Im sure many of the people bashing this game are ones who either played the demo for just a bit or had a whole bunch of technical problems and are redirecting their frustration of the game into quick and uneducated reviewsrandallt3mp

Seems like a lot of people made their judgements on the game by the demo which honestly was pretty boring compared to the actual game. I am not sure why they even released a demo like that...

I just have to look at Gamepros other reviews and I know that my tastes are very far off from their views in a lot of games. Some of the 100% they have given are just laughable and some great games have gotten bad reviews. Wait until some better sources come out before you make your decision.
