Click, click, click, click, waggle, click, click, click, waggle, click.

Wait, I know what that is! Video games!

Input repetition is inherent to video games as a whole. Perhaps you didn't think of that before posting,NemeSyS-1,but that's okay: thinking is not a requirement for an effective argu -- wait, sorry. Scratch that. I wasn't thinking.

I dont want to have to spend an afternoon waiting for my game to install or download constant patches and updates, nor do I enjoy having to memorize 27 different keys that somehow, someway get mapped to 12 buttons or triggers on a console. NemeSyS-1

Most people don't want spend their afternoons waiting for a game to install or for patches to download, either. Luckily, that's never been the case for most people. When a PC control scheme is "magically" mapped to 12 buttons on a controller, that's because it's been dumbed-down or inefficiently consolidated. I hope you're okay with that.

There's more to PC games than MMOs, RTSes, and sims, y'know.

Fair enough, I must've skipped that line.

Somebody,post pics of Crysis!

SpinoRaptor24

Only 360 fanboys who are desperate to take attention off of KZ2 do that.

...No it's mostly Hermits who do it.

Rightfully so. Who cares if Killzone 2 is the most technically stunning game on consoles? It doesn't hold a match to Crysis, consoles or not. The distinction only exists for those who aren't smart enough to provide a real argument for consoles.

Its a little tough to buy that you own a 360 but even if you do, you've clearly got a warped opinion on it. For one, there is no way that Gears can be graphically equated to an original xbox title, and Killzone 2, while pretty is by no means a perspective changer.

alextherussian

He didn't. He said that the graphics in Gears of War 2 weren't very much of an improvement over the original Gears of War.

I liked it, but gameplay wise - it wasnt as good as the first.

RM84x

How is this? No major changes were made to the mechanics.

well.. nothing. Computers are used to MAKE wii games. But that wasn't what you asked, you wanted to know what wii games coulnd't be bested on PC.goblaa

If you had paid attention, you would know that I asked no such thing.

And even though you could rotate objects with a mouse, you still have no depth of field. That and ringing wiki by waving you mouse around will just feel wierd.goblaa

Depth of field is a term pertaining to visual mediums, not movements. And what does "ringing Wiki" mean?

At the end of the day, even though you could "replicate" zack and wiki on the PC, it's just going feel inferior.goblaa

Video games aren't about feelings, son.

has no shake or tilt, so you couldn't pick things up to examine them or play with them. Zack and wiki is about 50% pointer and 50% waggle. It's all about picking objects up and messing with them to solve puzzles in a point and click adventure setting.

goblaa

A mouse can emulate 3D movement, as mentioned earlier.

3D movement. For example - you have a jugsaw puzzle to solve.A piece is in your hand. You can rotate the Wiimote to rotate the piece and then push the Wiimote forward to insert it into the puzzle.

manicfoot

Why can't you do that on the computer? Just clicking and dragging the puzzle piece will achieve the same ability to rotate the puzzle piece, if your description is correct. If you want to push it in, just move the mouse forward without clicking. That also removes a middle man (in this case, the accuracy of said motion controller).

What I want to know is what the Wii can do that a computer can't possibly do? Like tennis in Wii Sports -- you can't technically accomplish the same thing on a computer, unless you had a peripheral equivalent to the Wiimote.

Really? Maybe you should play it...

goblaa

My question was not of condescension, but of inexperience. I have not played Zack and Wiki, I'm not in a position to purchase it, and I would very much like to know what in Zack and Wiki can't be done with a mouse.

So maybe you should've answered my question instead of jumping to conclusions.

[QUOTE="WinterKIngRe4"]

Name me a game on the WIi that can't be bested on the PC?

manicfoot

Zack & Wiki couldn't be done on PC because of the controls... Also, I prefer the Wii version of World of Goo because it feels more interactive.

What exactly does Zack and Wiki do with a Wiimote that couldn't be done with a mouse?
