Ok so my rig is nothing special Intel Core i3 540 @ 3.07GHz Corsair Dominator 12.0 GB Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. H55M-UD2H (Socket 1156) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 768mb OC 488GB Seagate ST3500418AS ATA Device (SATA) 977GB SAMSUNG SAMSUNG HD103SJ ATA Device (SATA) Now it seems to be having issues playing Modern Warfare which I find quite embarrassing. I am assuming its because my card is very low budget but would appreciate any thoughts to the matter.
Alienware are over priced dell laptops. They are good but I will tell you a story and make it short.
I bought the toshiba qosmio x300 a few years back and its cost me £1200 and it was great! My friend bought an Alienware top of the range laptop which cost him £3000 it was always broken in one way or another. However, he did treat it fairly bad but my laptop outdid his on performance on all categories. I was warned not to get a laptop for gaming and I ignored them, so i learned the hard way.
Laptop Gaming Advantages: Easy to carry around Laptop Gaming Disadvantages: High Temperatures Low Battery Life Harder to upgrade in the future but not impossible Smaller=Easier to steal Touchpad+Gaming=Fail Desktops Advantages: Can build a cheap gaming rig No Battery to worry about Harder to steal Easy to upgrade They stay cooler if you add cooler fans You can keep up with all the new hardware as its easy to upgrade but expensive. I don't know any advantages but i would steer clear of Alienware. There are loads of better laptops out there.
