Simply NO.

Or atleast in the next 50 years. 9 million people play WoW. Halo 3 made 20 million more than Spiderman 3, which was the biggest entertainment blockbuster in history. Already GTA might surpass that record. Experts predict 4.5 million are addicted to video games in the U.S. alone. Thats 1.5% of the general population. The average gamer is 29 years old. (Note: since numbers are taken from Wikipedia, don't bash me on accuacy:D)

So unless something really drastic happens (like a plague wiping out 90% of the world's population), its really unlikely that it will crash in the near future.

The most annoying, and the most stupidest comment on these threads are the quote, "Halo is old. Its just Halo 2.5. It doesn't do anything new." They all say that Forge, 4-player co-op, better veichles, better balance, saved films, better weapons, better story, better graphics is all "adding on to Halo 2"

In a sense they are right. Halo 3 is simply Halo 2 plus the things listed above. Halo IS a typical run and gun shooter. Halo DOES have things that have been done before.

Then why, might you say that I think those comments are annoying? Here it is.

Bioshock is simply a shooter/adventure game. Its just SystemShock 2.5 with better graphics and plasmids. But it simply never gets old so its a AWESOME GAME.

Gears of War is simply a third person shooter. It just adds cover and better graphics. But who never likes being able to chainsaw a alien to oblivion? Its a AWESOME GAME.

Olivion is simply another RPG. It adds....... pretty much everything from other games. But wow, can you see how frickin huge the world is?! Its a AWESOME GAME.

Half Life is a typical run and gun shooter. It simply has fun puzzles and a good story. But who doesn't like the gravity gun? Its a AWESOME GAME.

World in Conflictis a typical RTS. It simply adds a new system to get reinforcements and such. But who doesn't like the nuke? Its a AWESOME GAME.

MGS is a typical spy game. It simply adds tactics and interactions with enviroment. But who doesn't like a spy hiding beneath a cardboard box? Its a AWESOME GAME.

Now my point is that Halo 3 is indeed rehash of every possible shooter before it. But so is every other game on the market. Halo 3, Bioshock, Gears of War, Oblivion, Half Life, World in Conflict, MGSsimply adds to the existing market and makes it work and is loads of fun. This makes it AAA.If you want a original, go play Pong.

I know, I play my 360 more than my wii, but the wii's being bought by casual gamers (30 years and up, or 13 years and down).

Also Nintendo has a bigger "hardcore" fanbase than the PS or the 360, and since they are coming up with SSBB, Galaxy, and other games Nintendo might become the next PS2. Its cheap and everyone can play it.

I knew that the wii was selling a lot, but I never knew how much it was ahead by. Got to say that 2007 console race is safely in the hands of Nintendo.

I'm not bashing HL or anything, but its pretty much worthless if you have the past games, and Portal seems like a couple hour arcade game. While episode 2 is bound to be interesting, but if episode 1 is to be a reminder, its gonna be pretty short.

If they actually made a whole new remake of the past games, then it might go to 9.0-9.5, but its simply the exact same thing with better textures.
