I think CDProjekt, as a whole, shows more respect for their customers than any other company in video games right now. May they continue to make boatloads of cash, so that the bean-counting bags of shit running their avaricious contemporaries might feel compelled to emulate this behavior! Bravo!
@lacee148: I'm sorry I don't fully understand your point. Are you saying that we paid Sony, so publishers should take that into consideration and not charge us more, or that Sony should subsidize these updates so that devs don't have to charge for them? If it's the first I disagree, if the second I think that would be a prudent move by Sony, but not something I'd feel entitled to.
@border_ku: I'm not claiming that these graphical upgrades are remasters, but you're assuming a knowledge of every ps4 game ever published that I don't believe you have. Do you know that these updates are as simple as flipping a switch, or do you just assume that's all it takes? Also, I doubt these updates will cost more than a few dollars and that's only IF a given publisher decides to charge for them in the first place. I'm not defending the pro at large, in fact I feel dubious about the whole "half-generation" trend, but this aspect of the pro does not offend me.
This policy seems completely reasonable. I own Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock: Infinite, but I' don't expect a free copy of Bioshock: The Collection to show up at my house next week.
@asmoddeuss: Yeah but they can't take advantage of the extra capacity for games, because the same version of the game has to play on the PRO and the OG as far as I've read.
