OK, watched the rest. Pretty good. I agree with the other comments posted; you could work on your delivery. MrPraline
I wish I could get up on stage everyday, but every chance I get I will work on my delivery (with a live crowd that is).

[QUOTE="Sajedene"][QUOTE="EaglesPhan89"][QUOTE="GenTom"]These sort of non-rehearsed (or it would appear) and slightly more inclusive of the audience jokes really make then lighten up and appreciate your actual material. So if you in the middle of jokes, criticise your own material or point to someone specific in the audience and say 'you know what i mean' or something.

I get what you're saying. I've been thinking about what Jim Gaffigan does and kind of breaks the fourth wall. That would actually be really smart. Thanks

All the good ones do it.

Sajedene: What do you do professionally? Whatever it is, it sounds really cool.

[QUOTE="Sajedene"]For someone that is prett new to this you're not bad. I've seen worse and they've been around for a while. You're still raw but you have great potential. I suggest going to see more shows from other commedians as well. Practice practice practice. Short and sweet. If you have to elaborate the joke then you lose your audience. If its something that has to be set up, then you gotta make mini jokes with the set up. Maybe someday I'll get to watch you when you hit up the LA circuit. When that happens let me know, I can introduce you to some of our comedian clients and if I think you're ready, bring some of our agents to your show. All seriousness. And on that note, to get noticed, you'd want to hit up LA, Chicago, and NY - and thank god for youtube, keep that up as well.

Thanks for all the help. I've been working on my material and I'm getting prepared for the Philly's Phunniest Person Contest later this month. You will definitely hear about me in the future. :)

I keep going to open mics in my area and toying around with my act. It's kind of awkward because a lot of these places won't let me get on stage without a parent present.

I only began doing stand-up a few months ago so I'm relatively new. I go to PSU and study communications/journalism and we all know how that's going to go. All the papers and whatnot are going under. I thought stand-up would be fun and if I keep working hard, I don't see why I can't get really good at it. After all, I'm only 20. I have lots of time to work on my material and act.

That's another thing I noticed... pacing and timing. Should I have more awkward pauses or what?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to scrap a lot of that material and work on the delivery. I've been watching a lot of Daniel Tosh, Nick Swardson and Zach Galifianakis.

I've been reading stand-up self help joke books and trying to fix my set-ups. I feel that's what could use a lot of work.

I considered taking a stand-up course at Helium Comedy Club in Philly, but I can't affor $450 for 3 classes and a personal session. So, I guess I'll teach myself. Anyone else try stand-up before?
