I have to agree with others who say this doesn't quite add up. 1. Blu-rays are incredibly difficult to scratch. 2. When you insert a disc, its held from the sides, meaning the only thing to scratch it would be when you first insert the disk, which reverts back to 1 in that something would have to forcefully scratch it.

The second issue is that Sony has already given you two games which is probably over 100 bucks, so its not as if they are refusing to fix your PS3 because they are cheap or don't care. They have shown the opposite.

The last issue I have with this story is that its not as if this happened over night. You have a year to bring it back if you have issues with it, so your implying that the PS3 just randomly started scratching scratch-proof discs after the warranty was up and now you have no way to fix it but threaten a fortune 500 company?

So since this isn't really a known issue (that I have even heard of), I'm going to go ahead and side with the Sony manger and politley assume you are willingly blowing this out of porportion and repeatedly diverting responsibility in the wrong direction. (I.E. you're trolling Sony.)

This problem does exist and if you do a search on google, there have been people who complained about it. If they did want to fix my console, they would have done it the first time and wouldn't have had made me send it back and forth for over 3 months. My console is still under warrenty for 2 MORE MONTHS and if you paid attention to my OP, I stated that it happened 7 months after my purchase. People like you are just ignorant if you do not believe your fellow man. Blurays can be scratched, they are just more resistant than dvds. My Ninja Gaiden Sigma disc was slightly scratched from the Ps3.

It is still in warrenty for about 2 more months and it scratched 2 of my games and lot of my dvds. Sony is replacing my dvds but I just find it odd that it is so hard for them to replace my ps3. they keep saying "there should be not problems" after I send them in, but obviously they are not doing a good job. Before I sent it in a 3rd time a month ago, one rep was actually very helpful, but he told me the service dept. made no repairs the first 2 times I send them in and sat on their lazy a$$es because quote " we can find no problems associated with this console".

Their customer service is awful. The lady at BBB who was helping me told me that there have been over 900 people like me who complained about similar issues and never got them addressed. The customer service of Sony has been given a "F" grade in comparison to Nintendo's and Microsoft's "A" ratings.

take a look

It doesn't work, everyone of them is very incompetent and will always say "I can't help you with this problem" when you ask who can they just respond "no one really" believe me. I have been calling so many times for over 3 months and this problem still isn't fixed. I highly doubt another phone call will fix my problem once and for all.

I contacted an attorney I know and she told me to go to small claims court to file for damages, but mentioned the chances of me winning are very slim due to the fact that Sony's lawyers will probably win anyway. I just resorted to contacting my news station because they have an consumer support section that deals with problems like this. This is the last thing I can resort to and I still have to wait for their response back in a few days.

I've wrote about this problem before, but I'll write it again. Since August of this year, I have spent over 3 months shipping my PS3 back and forth trying to get them to fix my console's disc scratching problem to no success. It is now November and I will be spending my console back in for a fourth time for "repairs". I have requested numerous times for Sony to give a replacement console and even complained to the BBB several times and Sony responded that the problem would be "resolved" when I get it back. Now fast foward to my fourth time sending in. They still refuse my requests to give me a proper replacement and my complaint with the BBB has proven to be useless since Sony still refuses to resolve my problem, contacting the FTC to help me has been useless also since they told me they don't individual issues. Their only attempt at making me "happy" was sending me 2 free games but they still have not addressed my problem. I've called their customer support number so times and I do not understand why they are so incompetent. One of the supervisiors at the customer service line earlier even spited me and stated "You're only bothering us because you have nothing better to do!" I responded angryily and he shut up, but still provided no resolution except "send it in again and HOPE that we WILL fix your problem" I've have taken so many measures to fix the disc scratching problems that I have run out of ways to do anything. Does anyone know what I can do to get Sony to actually fix my problem instead of lying to me and pissing me off for over 3 months(now dragging almost to 3.5 months)? I've contacted my local news station regarding their business practices but they still have not responded yet.

I should have. I bought it at a Target actually, if I had known about it I would have got it there instead, thanks for telling me though.
