Hmm, clearing the CMOS didn't seem to help.
Any other suggestions?
Well, here's the deal. This morning I went to my computer, which has been running for a long time with no problems. I notice it had restarted and so I figure whatever. Then, it logs into Windows (XP Home SP2) and suddenly reboots. No BSOD, just a reboot to the BIOS. Then I notice that my SATA HDD (Seagate 7200.11 500GB) isn't showing up. So I restart, and it shows up, and logs into Windows. Then, it repeats the same problems as before. Over and over, several times. After the umpteenth time, I finally get it to properly boot into Windows without crashing. So, could this be a problem with the motherboard? or Possibly the hard drive? Should I start panicking and backing up all my data? xD
Full Specs:
Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz @2.33GHz
Diamond HD 3870
2GB Crucial 10th anniversary DDR2 667 RAM
Biostar TForce 945P Mobo
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB
Antec Earthwatts 500W
Long story short: PC wouldn't boot, then when it would, would reboot, and not show my hard drive in the BIOS.
So yes. Help please? D:
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/vga-charts-2008/Kumulierte-Framerate-1680x1050,798.html 8800 GTS 512 on third place beating 4870 CFyetiHUNTER001
That also shows a single 4870 in second place, beating out 8800 GTS SLI setup...
I am going with everyone else on this, don't worry about SLI. Get a better single card, or just wait for a while to upgrade at all. There shouldn't be any games out that the 8800 GTS 512mb can't handle.
i love it when people claim 22mb p/s d/l speeds. considering that the highest speed you can get from cable providers is a 12mb connection and thats expensive as balls, not to mention practically no one actually gets 12 mb in reality. if you pay some crazy bill to get your 22 mb/s you should probably either rethink your life and find something better to throw your money at or just kill yourself because you haven't been a part of society on the past 2 years... or maybe you're just crazy rich and can't think of anything else to spend your cash on, in which case good job, now start thinking of someone other than yourself and donate your money instead of wasting ona connection thats about 4x as fast as you needeverdai
I find your reaction to be more than a bit over the top...
I have Comcast for my ISP, and I assure you, I don't pay that exhorborant of a price. I only pay $35 a month for my 16 mbps connection speed. Additionally, you apparently don't know much about internet speeds, as cable providers can offer speeds much, much faster than 12 mbps... Comcast offers upto 24 mbps in my area. There are cable speeds of 50 to 100 mbps + in some areas of the US. Look up DOCSIS 3.0 sometime.
Finally, of course the peak speeds of download are theoretical. I never would expect to get anywhere near 16,000 kbps on my connection in a real-world situation. However, I do rather like seeing real download speeds of over 1mbps.
On another note, here's my connection speed.
[QUOTE="siskokidd"]I have 2 slots but 1 has DDRII (DDR2??) 1GB 533 RAM. So I have 1 extra slot.crazy-player
Since you have one extra slot, I would go with this: G. Skill 2GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM
In total, you should have 3GB, so it'll be a big improvement. If you ever plan on building a new rig in the future, just use this 2GB RAM, it's really fast.
I wouldn't recommend this. First of all, if he mixes two different types of RAM, it won't work in dual-channel.
Additionally, having one stick of 533 mhz RAM would gimp the 800 MHz DIMM.
Finally, we don't even know that his mobo can support DDR2 800.
As I said in your other thread, the problems you're having does seem to be a problem with your PSU underpowering your video card. There is no way that an E8400 or an 8800GT should be performing poorly on the games you're mentioning.
As for the VX550, it is an excellent PSU. What is your budget for a new PSU?
Sounds like a PSU problem...
What is your exact PSU?
I will assume you are looking for a KVM switch for VGA I/O. So, with that said,

This Linkskey model is fantastic. I used to use that exact one and it worked like a charm.
