I've just read about MOH:H2 on IGN and have to say I'm really impressed by what i read.

The control scheme sounds phenomenal and I think it may just be the game that has so far made the most use of the Wii's technology.

"You move through the locales in the game with the nunchuk's analog stick and aim with the Wii remote. In Campaign Mode, holding the A button brings up your iron sights for precision targeting and you're able to twist the nunchuk left or right to very effectively lean in the appropriate directions; this is extremely useful when you want to peek around a corner or barricade and sight-in on an enemy. The most uncomfortable control mechanics relate to using the D-pad to crouch (down) and to cycle between weapons (left and right), of which two - a primary and a secondary - can be carried at any time. The list of guns includes everything from the aforementioned Luger and Thompson to the MP40, two sniper rifles (American Springfield being one of them), a powerful shotgun, and a colt, in addition to grenades, artillery guns, and mortars, among others. Many of them come to Wii with custom gesture systems attached, which is a new feature that Tomporowski was itching to show us.

The game has a clean look to it and it runs at 60 frames.

Take, for example, the shotgun. You aim and shoot with the Wii remote and B-trigger, but you reload the weapon after every damaging blast by making a pumping motion with the nunchuk. The maneuver is very satisfying. (As an aside, if you're using the Zapper in Campaign Mode, another possibility, you'd pull the entire peripheral down and back again to create that pumping motion.) Then there's the bazooka. This one's a little trickier. Here, you pretend that the Wii remote is the barrel of the huge gun itself, so you flip it upside down (the infrared pointer facing away from you) and rest it on your shoulder, right next to your ear, careful to keep your finger on the B-trigger. Next, you aim at enemies and objects with the nunchuk's analog stick. When you're ready to blow something up, you fire with the B-trigger, and when you do that you'll both hear a bazooka sound from the Wii remote's internal speaker and simultaneously feel the controller rumble. It's pretty well implemented, as goofy as it may read. You control a stationary artillery cannon by motioning clockwise or counterclockwise with the nunchuk to steer the giant unit right or left, and snap backward with the Wii remote to fire off massive blasts. To yield a heavy machine gun, you twist both the Wii remote and nunchuk to the left or right, as you'd do in Wii Sports Boxing to dodge offensives, and then you fire with the B-trigger. There's even a melee attack - you thrust forward with both the Wii remote and nunchuk to knock out nearby enemies. (In the online multiplayer mode, you can tap Z button for a secondary, but weaker melee attack, too.) "

It really does sound pretty impressive to me, and I'm really glad that they're not just limiting themselves to simple flicks of the remote. I haven't really been following the Wii too much lately, as I've been a bit disappointed with it, and so don't know if there's another game out there with a control scheme that sounds as intuitive as MOH:H2's (Metroid, perhaps? Haven't really read up about it as it doesn't really interest me), but if developers continue to put this kind of effort into taking advantage of the Wii Remote then the Wii may finally take top-spot in my books again :)

Here's the link to the IGN article anyway (apologies if old news):

Ps3 is doomed, there's no reason to buy one... period. I cant believe this is still an argument of any kind, we all know PS3 hardware is horrible for gaming and Sony lost their ability to tie down exclusives. I dont know a single person in RL who wants a PS3, why bother???

When are the great Sony exclusives coming out for PS3, 2012?? By the time devs figure out how to deal with PS3's laughable amount of memory (256 FTL), they'll figure out not to waste their time w/the PS3. I feel bad for all the kids who begged and pleaded for a PS3 and feel obligated to defend it here in SW, what a waste of time and energy.

Sell your crummy PS3. Sell it NOW so you can buy a 360 and Bioshock, then Halo 3, then Mass Effect. Your PS3 nightmare can end as soon as you WAKE UP!!!

trollop_scat

Do you own a PS3?

I'm just asking, because once you own one it's actually pretty amazing.

And, let's be fair, when was the last time the Wii had a AAA exclusive? If you look at the Wii's top 10 games on Gamespot 4 of them are from the virtual Console. I don't care what anybody says, but when nearly half of the games in your top 10 list are re-releases you know there's something wrong. And the top game is Resident Evil 4, which is on it's THIRD re-release. The Wii's waiting forever for it's decent exclusives as well, don't forget that.

I own all 3 consoles, and whilst I prefer my 360 over the PS3, I still think it's a great console. What i don't understand is how it's horrible hardware for gaming...I don't claim to be all-knowing when it comes to the technical side of things, but don't the PS3 specs roughly match the 360's? Yeah, it's a fat console, but i fail to see how else it can be classed as horrible hardware for gaming.

And yeah, the 360 titles you listed are all pretty good, especially BioShock (downloaded the demo before....Sheer awesomeness xD), but there've been rumors fluttering about how it may end up coming to the PS3, and I can name one upcoming PS3 exclusivethat makes the PS3 worth buying just for it; Metal Gear Solid 4. I could also mention Heavenly Sword or Killzone 2, but meh. I didn't buy the console for them games :)

In all complete honesty, if you think buying a PS3's a waste of time and money, that's your problem. I'd just rather not limit myself to what games I can own because of pathetic fanboyism.

Not the most painful, but it hurt, and scared the **** out of me.

After I had an appendicitis, it got all infected and the puss had to be removed >_>

You know those huge needles that you think they're gonna use on you? It was one of those, like a foot long or something. He whipped it out said, "Just relax" and shoved it into my lower torso area. He proceeded to remove the puss, and did the process again.

conhaire

Lmao "Just relax"

The most painful thing that's ever happened to me was when I was getting off the Dumbo ride at Euro Disney when I was maybe 4 or 5. I missed the step (Apparentally, I've only been told stories of how it actually happened, I can't really remember HOW to it happened, but I can remember that it happened.) and basically snapped the muscle in my left hip. Was in a wheelchair for God knows how long, then did the same thing again a couple of years later. Can't remember for the life of me how though.

Just said on the Nintendo Wii forum how Halo is better than Metroid after someone compared the two, so thought I'd bring the vote here.

It's okay. We understand.

Our way is not for the faint of heart. We are in a time of difficult transition. Acceptance ofour new, 'casual' bretheren is tough, but necessary. We only hope that you keep the memory of Nintendo's golden era close to you as move into another world. May we meet again under better circunstances.

"SALUTE!"

But seriously, its too bad that you will renounce Nintendo completely. I mean, sure its not for everyone but the games they make are still of top notch quality and fun. Just don't go missing out because its got Nintendo on the side.

Well, goodbye and good luck.

Koopaknight29

I haven't renounced it completely, I still like Nintendo's games. I love Mario Kart DS and Warioware, and I'm looking forward to Brawl and Galaxy.I'm just not gonna supportonly Nintendo anymore. I just don't see the point.

[QUOTE="El_Jarvo"]

So people are comparing Metroid to Halo?

IMO, there's no competition; Halo is the better. Well, from what I can tell so far. Halo 1 was better than MP1 and Halo 2 was better than MP2.

I just find the Metroid games to be boring, and I doubt Corruption will make me change my opinion, or will be better than Halo 3. But hey, you never know, only time will tell :)

NiteX

Haha! You wish! The MP games are hands down light years ahead of the run and gun Halo in everyway. Halo sucks ass and you know it.

Well, no. If I knew Halo sucked ass then I wouldn't have said I thought it was better than the MP series :S

And it's just In My Opinion anyway, it all comes down to personal preference. Me, if I have a first person shooter I'd rather have it as an all-out action shooter rather than an "explore and scan everything" kinda game. I've tried to like the MP series, but just can't.

And you may be right, the next MP may in fact be "light years ahead" of Halo 3, but even if it is, I'll still most likely prefer Halo 3.

I've always loved Nintendo. When the Wii first came out I was the first to arrive outside St John's market in Liverpool waiting for them to open the doors so that I could finally get my Wii. I also had an undieing hatred for Sony. However, nearly 8 months on, I've decided I'm not gonna stick with just Nintendo alone, and I'm not gonna hate on Sony anymore either.

One reason is that I'm sick of all these Brain Training and Mini-Game compilations etc, I want a game for the Wii where I can sit down for hours and play it, and IMO I don't think there's been a Wii game like that since Zelda. Galaxy looks awesome, and yes, so does Brawl, but they're not coming out for a while, so why only support one console and limit your choices? Being a Nintendo fanboy alone means you're missing out on seriously great looking titles on botht the PS3 and 360.

Metal Gear Solid 4, Resident Evil 5, Army of Two, Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Call of Duty 4, Rock Band, Assassin's Creed...The list goes on.

And look at some of the games that are already out; Gears of War, Resistance: Fall of Man, Viva Pinata, DiRT, Motorstorm, Guitar Hero 2...All brilliant titles.

I'm not saying that the Wii's games are bad though. Whilst I'm sick of the Mini-Game compilations etc, there are some brilliant games out now; Warioware, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Red Steel, Excite Truck, Twilight Princessetc....

So basically what I'm trying to say is...Don't be a fanboy. All 3 consoles are great and all 3 consoles have great games coming for them. So again, why limit yourself? If the 3 Companies wanna go to war with each other, that's fine. It just means more and better games for us :)
