Some of them can get patched, but others are just going to be impossible to fix, even with the PS4's touchpad.

It's a standalone device so you won't need the current handheld to play Vita games on the TV.

Slashkice

It's pretty interesting, hopefully will get more devs interested in creating games for it, althou it will cost them some Vita sales.

I will prolly buy one so i can play ps4 in my living room as well, also i have a bunch of vita games from ps+ patiently waiting.

more info can be seen here: http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/release/pdf/130909c_e.pdf

Figured. That creates quite the problem since more than a few of the Vita's best games use features not found on a dualshock 3.

Slashkice

We'll see, maybe they can patch those games to be playable. The best option would be DS4 support with it's touch integration but i doubt it.

As for the device itself it might be really useful to stream the ps4 to other tv's in your house and i still didn't understand if you need to connect it to the Vita? otherwise it negates the need to own one (if it can play Vita games on it's own)

What I'm wondering is how they're going to deal with touch controls on this thing. Something like Technika would be impossible to play with just a Dualshock 3.

Slashkice

They won't

"Notably, Sony says that not all PS Vita games will work with the PS Vita TV hardware, since some games require a touch-screen, and this device will not provide such functionality."

So, basically Sony lost themselves another chance to bring up TLG (althou it was already mentioned they were putting it behind some other projects with more priority)

Deep Down's online looks nice, althou the demo didn't really impress me (was expecting some blocking + more combat action)

The new Vita model has me kinda confused, at first it seemed super nice but now i'm not so sure because of the screen... gotta get some info on that

Late release on Japan means TGS will probably be pretty meh, so hype lost there...

Oh well... seems like i'll have plenty of time to finish up my backlog on ps3 :P

As much as i want to be hyped i very much doubt it will be "Big News", for the simple fact that the big stuff gets leaked very fast... :p

Still watching it thou, waiting on TGS to convince me to be a day1 buyer because nothing else announced did so for me...
