I think that the video game industry is about to go through a massive migration period. I believe that in five to ten years, both Microsoft and Sony will no longer be making consoles.
If they block used games, they better not expect me to pay $60 for them. Steam sells games for way cheaper. These fools must not realize there are alternative options for gamers.
If they make me use internet to play, I will buy a PS4. If SONY also does this, I will buy a PC and purchase nothing from SONY or Microsoft. Simple as that.
Its not fair to assume my internet will always be on. If I am travelling, playing somewhere outside my house; or am getting poor service that day, I don't want to have my XBOX held hostage.
I fear that we are going to read about layoffs at Danger Close coming up. It's too bad the game didn't come out as they hoped. I bought a copy; but I have to admit it wasn't as good as its competing titles.
I agree that COD wouldn't have the same sales without help from their minor-aged patrons; but I find the comments from Leland Yee to be generally bias; as if he thinks that removing video games is the only solution here.
I'm pretty sure the level of violence in the world is the lowest it's ever been in world history; even with the school shootings and car bombings. The mongols didn't have Call of Duty; and they didn't have any qualms with raping and pillaging.
The Wii was successful for many reasons... most of which are unique to that generation. I don't see the Wii U getting the same hype as the Wii. More importantly, most casual gamers (such as my girlfriend or sister-in-law) don't even know the difference between a Wii and a Wii U. They think its just a controller for the Wii.
I believe the marketing decisions are what is destroying Nintendo; and not so much the hardware.
