Working on game, FOR REALS Edition

Ok, ok, I'm always saying I'm working on games, but I never have anything to show... yeah yeah.
So here are two shots of a work in progress game. This is level 1 of 5.

Super Fun Land Go!

Fear the power!

I also got a sealed copy of Super Bonk and a Hudson t-shirt the other day. The t-shirt feels good and smells nice. I don't know if I should open up the game or keep it sealed. :(

Been playing Splatterhouse, Dynasty Warriors 6, Lost Odyssey, and GTA IV. Star Parodier is coming out tomorrow on the VC so I'm planning on getting that as soon as I wake up.

Still havn't seen Dark Knight, but I weely weely wanna.

That's about it.

MGS4, Blade Runner, and other matters.

Watched my friend play through MGS4 the other day. Man... I want to say it is the best movie I have ever seen on a console, but that's just being dumb. So epic, so tragic... man... That Kojima sure does know how to work it.

Anyhoo, was watching about two hours of a Blade Runner documentary from disc 2 ( I think ) of my 5-Disc collector's box. I got this thing back in Christmas from a buddy, but only started watching the extras right now.
Alot of the stuff in that movie is so inspiring, and it really gets me depressed about how much of today's movies are all computer graphics. I mean, I like stuff like Beowulf and Speed Racer, but seeing these kinds of things in development is so amazing. It also gets me bugged how magnificently Ridley Scott and his team can remaster Blade Runner by slightly tweaking it and fixing some things, while George Lucas's method of remastering means slapping CGI on everything. Gah, its just absurd. I used to love the original Star Wars soooo much when I was a kid, but now its all filled with a bunch of crap it could do with out. I have to stick to watching my VHS tapes. And don't even get me started on that spin off series prequel stuff.

Well that's just what I think. :(

I have found me a programmer and am working on a Bullet Hell type shmup. I will mostly be doing all the artwork, and perhaps the music unless we find a music person. His engine is pretty much done I think, and I've tested a couple of rounds of the game so its pretty good work.

Also been working more on my stories and characters for a ( doesn't know the word ) game. Its kinda religious, but more on the fantasy side... you know, demons, angels, heaven and hell... that kinda stuff. I want to work on the games as a 3 part thing. First, it'll be a shmup and hack n slash/platformer set some time in the near future, then a prequel adventure set thousands of years ago, and finally a sequel to the shmup/hacknslash but more like the adventure part with lil bits of the shmup and hack n slash throw in. If that makes any sense...

I'm in a huge Blade Runner mood by the way, so I was recently looking for the PC game by Westwood on ebay...

That is it for me, I guess.
How you doin'?

Going to learn C/C++

Allright, since my last video game project failed, I'm going to take up programming. Me sees it that it'd do me alot better if I knew how to program my games so I wouldn't have to worry about team mates bailing out on me. Plus being an artist is somewhat useless since there are so many talented folk out there.

Downloaded FFCC: My Life As King a while back, but stopped playing it after I got back into GTA IV and bought Blazing Lazers.

Also went to L.A. last week, gave my cousin back her GameCube games, and she gave me back my DS games minus Mario Kart.
And I still don't know where my WarioWare touched is. I have the case but the cartridge is missing.... and I can't remember if I left it over there, some where in my house, or in my friend's room.... sigh...

I watched Speed Racer and Iron Man. Liked Iron Man alot more.... and now maybe I'll go see Indiana Jones 4 during the weekend.

Other than that, I'm getting really into Inoue Takehiko's art styIe seeing how I like drawing like he does.... this means I'll finnaly get to use my big ol' Bristol paper and make ink paintings and portraits.
Also picked up Vagabond 1-5, but have not read them yet. Also taking a look at his art books but booyyyy are they expensive...

Oh yeah, and my friend and I were watching his Drawn Together season 3 DVD ( first disc only ).

That's about it for me.

GTA IV + Mario Kart Wii

That's what has been using up my time.

I think my game developing has been cancelled. The programmer I was collabing with is off doing his own thing, and I'm left here with even more useless sprites and drawings... sigh

Other than that, I'm trying to finish up the last few discs of Fist of the North Star. So awesome, so tragic. :(
Been getting better at drawing, but I don't have my scanner install disk... so I guess I'll have to stay with digital for a while.

Yep.

Wii back, two new games!

So my Wii came back after my lost blog post... And I'm sad to say that I'm bored of Brawl... but this is because of two reasons:

I'm a big fan of the DW series, no matter how low the scores get, and I'm so in love with EDF 2017.

Been listening to the Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich album.... watched the first half of Ben-Hur, and still have 3 discs left of Popeye cartoons.
Also bought the Wii Zapper a while back. Link's Crossbow Training is pretty neat, and the Zapper was more comfortable than I thought. Beat King Kong on the Cube, forgot I owned a copy of Dead or Alive Ultimate, and now I'm just sitting here in the dark typing away.

Yep.

Two more movies and waiting for Wii

Allright, so I bought two more movies yesterday.

Let me just say, I'm really dissapointed with the Weinteins decision to split Grindhouse into two DVDs. I mean, I know the film tanked in the US, but still, I'm sure they made their money back on the DVD release.
And what really makes me hate is that they go on to release a 6-Disc set for JAPAN. ughies... They get both the extended cuts, the bonus feature discs, AND the full theatrical release with bonuses.... ughies x 2.

Sigh

Anyhoo, I'm also waiting for my Wii to arrive from being repaired due to Smash Bros.
I don't know why, but I'm really paranoid and keep thinking that they shipped it to the wrong house for some reason.
I don't have those kinds of thoughts when I get an Amazon or eBay order, but for some reason its happening for the Wii.
Sent it it arrived on the 4th, and hopefully it should be here next week, right? And I mean, if the repair facility is some where near Nintendo HQ like Washington, it shouldnt take that long to send it back to California, amirite? No? Ok.

Bleach is really fun. I thought the story mode was pretty short until I unlocked additional story modes. That's why I love Treasure... such good developers... mmm....

I might start reading Brave New World. Friend brought it over, so why not?

End.

New Movies + a Game

So, my Amazon.com order came a couple days ago, and here they are:

Plus this CD, this book, and this game.

That's about it.
Working on another game with a friend. It should hopefully be done for testing by tomorrow and fully finished by the end of the week and ready for sharing with my buddies. :)

Comp was buggy, fixed now

Oh yaaa, feels good to have the good ol' heat generator working again.
Had to reformat, but luckily I bought an external HDD.

Bought Ninja Gaiden DS, which is full of love.

Also my birthday was on the 26th, and lucky me got to spend some money on a huge Amazon.com list of goodies which will be here in a few days.

I also met this girl, and I've fallen in love with her and we're planning on getting married>
But back in the real world, nothing else is new. Having a clean install on the PC is great, though. I don't even feel like messing with start up programs or any of that voodoo.

I am wasting time though, so I'm in a big mood to make some graphic novel type stuff. Either an original story or make an illustrated Odyssey or Divine Comedy.

Yessir.

Working on game.

Allright, so me and a bud will now be working on a flash game to be played online.
It'll be a mix mash up of Metal Slug/Contra/Super Metroid run and gun, Resident Evil item managment, an Action-RPG upgrading/leveling.

He's working on the basic code right now, while I'm doing all the art. He has a small Sci-Fi story set up, and we'll have to expand it later... soo... yeah, I'm really excited about this.

I got Brawl, and my Wii doesnt play it properly, but it does work. I just get some scratchy sounds and video freezes here and there, but I can still play ( gonna send it in anyways ).

Also my Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star DVD box set from China came yesterday. God its soo awesome! I'm so glad I got it. It contains the 152 FotNS episodes, New Fist of the North Star, and the animated movie.

I've only been watching the first few episodes, and the picture quality is kinda grainy, but I like it. The subtitles suck, though.
The audio is in Japanese while you get a choice of Chinese or horrible English subs. But what can I do, huh? for 70 bucks total I think its a good purchase, no? No?? :(

YOU WA SHOCK!!!

Smash Bros.

Me wants. :(

Anyhoo back to real life stuffs, I'm kinda bummed because I was thinking back to all the video game projects I was working with people, and how none of them were ever finished or just abandoned because of me or them. :(
I still want to make games, but I need to find some one or some people that can stick with something, and that can continue to push me.

So since I can't find anyone, I guess I'll have to put down my ideas in art or something else. I was thinking of finishing up all the art assets like sprites, backgrounds, and music, and just get it all out of me before I forget any of it. This way I could probably just find a programmer to finnish it up.

Maybe. :(
