if MS said that, i believe them. They havent been wrong with their projected sales yet. MS is probally the best advertising company in the worldEducated_Gamer

Thats cause they change them to fit...they projected 15million 360s sold by this summer, realized it was unrealistic and changed it..lol, i can do that too ya know.

[QUOTE="Robio_basic"]

Whenever I hear arguements about brand loyalty and how good games in the future will be, I'm constantly reminded of conversations I had in 1997 about the N64, and the PSP just over a year ago.

Here's a nice little concept for everyone to keep in their minds.  When thinking about a game console, it's never a real good idea to speculate about too much.  More things can go wrong than you might think.  Just ask Sony right now.

Javy03

N64 (49 mill) maintained most of the SNES (40 mill) fanbase.  Brand loyalty was there but the problem was that Sony brought a new older crowd to the gaming industry and made mature themed games to appeal to them.  So yes brand loyalty did play a part but Sony's expansion of the gaming industry trumped that.

The PSP is another story where the handheld market is very different then the console market and the audience are younger and more casual.  The PSP attempted to convince gamers who normally dont play handhelds and play consoles, the older audience, to buy a handheld and it has worked in some part but overall the handheld market is dominated by casuals and kids who would rather play quick easy platformers and pokemon then GTA and Tekken.  PSP had nothing to do with brand loyalty is trying to expand the handheld market and its working, just not as successfully as it did with conosles.

Very well said.

I have no doubt it'll outsell the 360, the wii im not sure...its going to be a close one unless nintendo pulls out early.  Leaving Sony with the advantage of having more years to sell the PS3 with other related factors as well.

The same way life has changed so much....mostly technology and money the reason for those commercials i believe, they look cheap and to the point.
