Yea, and how dare he say halo has no gameplay... tell that to the 4,000,000,000 (4 BILLION) hours of matchmaking played. That's MATCHMAKING, the serious matches, not the exhibition ones where you screw around with your friends looking for glitches. Halo is a great game, I just wonder how many more years of bashing until it finally gets the respect it deserves.
How many customers does McDonalds have? Plenty, right? Its the most popular food chain in the world.
But does all of that make McDonalds "good" ? NO. Popularity and time wasted on certain activities doesnt make something good or give it any more quality than it inherently has.
4 Billion people have probably fought and died in mindless, idiotic and pointless wars throughout history; does that make those wars "good" or worthwhile to have fought? No. 4 Billion people have probably inadvertantly had children without any thought or planning; does that make those pregnancies and the resulting hardships "good"? No. If i spend 4 billion hours digging holes in the middle of nowhere does that make that activity and my engaging in it "good" ? No.
The point is that appealing to popularity or large meaningless numbers does nothing to prove that Halo is a good game. If your going to claim that it is then you need to argue that its gameplay is what does it and why it does it.
