Out of nowhere today, the game Trine was announced for PSN... and one viewing of the trailer immediately had lots of people in the office buzzing. Seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, check this out:

It's absolutely gorgeous, and seems reminiscent of ****c 2D adventure/puzzle titles like Flashback, Out of This World, and Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey. Trine comes from Finnish developer Frozenbyte, with staff members who've worked on such titles as Super Stardust HD (in fact, the trailer's music definitely sounds like it's from Super Stardust HD composer Ari Pulkkinen).

According to the information released so far, the game has you creating and using physics-based objects to defeat enemies and get through puzzles (you can see this in the trailer). It features three heroes, each with his or her own abilities (the wizard summons objects, the thief uses agility, and the warrior offers physical destruction), and you can choose which one you want to use at any time.

The best news, though, is that it's not far off -- Trine will release in Spring of 2009. We can't wait to see more.

Lol, Killzone 2 > Any 360 FPS title, visually/animation,gameplay-wise MGS4 > Any 360 title, story-wise/cut scene-wise, character detail-wise Resistance 2 > any 360 title Online-wise and soon to be gameplay/graphics-wise for 3rd person... God of War 3, uncharted 2, Heavy Rain But in the end Resident Evil 5 kills all, which both plats can enjoy :)

[QUOTE="0rin"]Yeah, I dunno. It was weird though. The videos of the gameplay impacted me so much that I actually had a dream about RE5 lastnight... I don't even know why. I think it was just the realism used in the "Zombie" AI. they are slow moving, have extremely slow reaction time, and are all up in your face. where as the bosses seem a little smarter, and all. But the lack of gore is really sad. If I shoot that big guy (the one with that AWESOME axe) with the shotgun like in the video, he should be gushing blood, but still coming at me. However, there isn't even a drop of blood on the ground, on his axe, on his clothes/skin.. nothing! It looks so real other than that, but just that is enough to really take away from the realism. Also, I don't like how the sniper rifle immediately jerks you out of scope to reload. watching your target flail around headless is part of the joy of sniping. heh. Add more gore (by more, i mean a good mix between Killzone 2 and Gears of War) and then we'll talk business.

LOL, gears 2 has an UNREALISTIC level of gore...added to make it looks COOL, its over exaggerated...capcom don't want to go that way and are keeping things at a realistic level. But still i don't know what your on about, the gore is fine, knife cuts leave wounds, blood gets on chris (but disappears)..and overall its well done....also, capcom still might be working on it, this demo was from an older build.

[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"][QUOTE="-DrRobotnik-"] wow never in my life have a seen such a load of fail in one post. RE4 more realistic!? lol, no, i dont think so. RE4 was good, but the older ones were much much much much much much much much much much much (have i stressed this enough?) much better...finalfantasy94

HOW in the blue hell was the older re's more realistic? the broken SERCURITY like camera's? the abliltiy to only aim up and down? Walking around zombies withouth being touched? Your just one of thos hurt retro fans who grew up with the old Re'S and automatically think its the best...blah blah. RE4/5 are much more realistic, if it were a real case scenerio, one would have the ability to shoot where they want to, melee them if needed and anything to stay alive. RE4 was changed for a reason, let it go and accept, if RE sticked to the same concept it would have flopped so hard.

RE4 relistic lol. Dude did you play RE4 before the other ones if so then you wouldint understand. You have to face the fact RE4/5 is not survival horror its an action shooter. IM not saying neither is a bad game, but be for real dude if you think this is survival horror then you just dont get it.

RE4/5 ARE surival horror games:|

Try and spin it all you want, thats what theya are, look up the terms for god sakes.

You need to face the fact and understand the terms HORROR and SURVIVAL, but judging by your DUDES you don't seem to have tha knowledge.

The classic re's were NEVER scary, unless your 12...empty mansions and odd music isn't SCARY, expecially slow zombies and a PLANT as a boss.

Just because RE4 had a gameplay change (for the better) doesn't make it an action game.

I guess people found borken cameras and NOT being able to see an zombie when aiming, from a distance...SCARY..

[QUOTE="Juggernaut140"] How is increasing your health with "TEH MAGIC HERBS", becoming a walking tank loaded up with 6 or 7 plus a couple hundred shells, gunnig down thousands of Plagas, Finding money and ammunition on dead crows, surviving a giant sea monster in a wooden motor boat and giant moving statues realistic exactly?finalfantasy94

I was talking GAMEPLAY-wise of shooting and overall new perspective, which many think its a FULL action game now. All i'm saying is the new camera perspective and gameplay is MORE realistic, compared to the limited and broken gameplay of the classic Re's. Yes, RE4 had more ammo..but if you've played the game. on pro, ammo depletes MUCH quicker. the Classic re's had ammo scatered everywhere too, just less of it. MAINLY due to the slow and weak enemies that are ZOMBIES...that old formula CANNOT work with the new ones, since they are more agressive and throw stuff at you..it just wouldn't work. NO game has complete realism, DERR..my point was it was just WAY more realistic than the original game from the shooting and overall combat system. I want to be able to have complete controls of where i shoot and aim..just like one would have in real life. gsus!

BTW, judging by the RE5 demo i have played, SURVIVAL is a much bigger factor than 4...its much harder, considering the ammount of bullet these guys can take. Also, thanks to the buddy system, its a much tenstion filled horror. Capcom have said they will be going back to the similar routes as the classic ones, anyways...thought i might add that in, considering the cry babys.

You really thought this was harder then 4? 5 so far seems just as easy. Also having a partnet doesint bring any tenstion since your partner is pretty smart on her own and sometimes the guys ignor you for her. THe chainsaw dude was a piece of cake since I had a partner I ran right pass him.

Play it with a partner, not the A.I....its much more interesting and harder, the A.I seems to good when played on your own, i've noticed. Mainly due because she ALWAYS sticks close to you.

The aiming was the same as the original RE except you had a laser sight :?

LOL, what? So in the classic re's you could aim at specific body parts, from an over the shoulder camera? GTFO.

[QUOTE="insanewolfninja"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"] well RE4 was bad IMO, it was an action game not a survival horror. they need to go back to old school design with the unnecessarily elaborate puzzles and stuffNinjaMunkey01
LOL it sucks caus its a action game I gues MGS4 sucks gears sucks gow sucks and every game that has action, why cause your too mutch of a big boy to get scared. and you want your elabarote puzzles go do some math you dork.

...ok... :| I think he meant compared to older RE games it wwas not so good. If they make a series of games in one style and get a fan base for it and suddenly change it all, the fans will get mad. Its to do witht he fact they changed it for the worse. If a game that is mean to use action uses it thats fine, and personally I did not like what they did with MGS4 with haveing a greater emphasis on shooting guys rather than sneaking past them, MGS3 was better overall.

WOW. you make NO sense. The classic RE's are flops compared to RE4 and soon to be RE5..the change WAS desperatly needed and CAPCOM saw this. Its why RE4 won many awards and considered the best lastgen game. Older re's are just broken for today's standards...how would it even work? RE4 introduced a new gameplay system and MORE realistic one, with a new BETTER perspective. RE5 is also more survival based, MORE so than RE4...so why the complaints? Playing the demo had me run out of ammo real quick and the enemies are MUCH harder. Just because i can now shoot at any body part and melee...means its more action? yet a broken gameplay like RE1, where i can't aim at body parts and only look up and down, is more horror? No matter how you spin in, RE4/5 are much more realistic in terms of survival and in terms of combat/shooting. FACT!
