wut? R2 got a 9.5 on IGN and a 9 here I believe? I'm not one for fanboy logic but that means Gears 2 flopped...but that's off topic and I wont waste my time with you. Back on topic... cool!

Well if you want to use IGN then how about Gamerankings were Gears2 is AAA and RfoM2 is AA and gamerankings is a average of all reviews.

lol, gears 2 has had like over 60 reviews for it, while R2 has had about 40...that seem fair to you?

I can't stand Epic. I can't stand that idiot Cliffy B, and I can't stand their overrated casual shooter crap either. They annoy me more than EA and Activision. GinoNYC
its funny tho, if it wasn't for the GREAT gaming influences out there....Gears of War would be utter crap, thank RE4, killswitch, MGS4, bioshock, etc....the first gears of war story was utter trash, luckily MGS4 came out b4 gears and Epic learnt how to properly do a story, so much of gears 2 reminded me of MGS4....but the EMOTIONAL part of things still didn't work for gears characters...DOM getting upset of his wife was the cheesiest thing i have ever seen. Yet, epic jump and brag like they know gaming....you know engines and graphics..the rest your mediocre with. this is all IMO.

i agree..the demo has grown on me, the online co-op is dam intense and FUN.....can't wait to play the bad boy with my mates and online. just wait untill the final game...its gonna be true HORROR, not to worry.

I honestly dont think its that bad.I'm not saying this as a fanboy,elitest,or a herded epic sheep...but im saying that rather than complaining about it whining like a dog about it,why not figure out ways to get out of the system?i mean hell...im not the brightest tool in the shed, but i know how to evade certain unavoidable moments in gears:if your not feeling confident about downing the chainsaw revver at short distance,pace your self at mid range or long range.see a mortar?you follow that missile in the sky,check out where its gonna land and escape.easy stuff.i find it very sad that people are quick to complain rather than try to get better.LinKuei_warrior
its broken....simple as that. Chainsaw is too powerful, shotgun is useless./slow and glitched (sometimes hitting the floor) the melee shoot combo is to easy to pull off, games don't last long enough, can't exit games without exiting the entire game, major lag is still a problem, host advantage, glitches in general (people getting stuck and jumping in the air) proxy grenades is more annoying and overused....the game just isn't balanced enough and still think the first gears was better. I hate the pacing as well, in single player your roady run is too fast, yet online is slow and movement feels to heavy..etc. Epic tryed to HARD to be different and in the end making it worse. Don't fix what ain't broke, matchmaking is pointless.

Thats what happens when you only have a 2 year development window...lol, cliffy always kept bragging about making games SMARTER not harder (fool). The game was obviously rushed. I love gears, but i think these guys need to stop trying to look cool, by making games in less time and beating there chest over how great there engine is, because in the end, good things take time.

I played it. Im not impressed. It was just okay.

its because of the levels we were given....i can't wait for the dark ones and overall bigger ones to explore. It was an early and short demo, not much to judge by, IMO...i really liked it tho.

One of the most poorly directed cheese filled moments in gaming. Embarrassing to watch, like almost every cutscene in MGS4.

LOL, why...because its TOO good? HAHA poorly directed, coming from YOU...YOU, thats laughable. but what ever makes you sleep at night. 10/10 > you.

BTW, anything can be cheesy..doesn't mean its a bad thing, depends how you view it. You just needed a cheap word to hate on it.

Epic tried TOO hard to make the game different, for the fact it is a sequal...adding stopping power was good, but did they reall have to slow down the shotgun and make it feel so dam heavy? The stomping power is good enough, for those rolling and shotty noobs. Now they just went overboard and made the chainsaw over powered. Everything should have stayed the same, with the addition of stopping power and extra melees, etc. It just feels broken now, nothing but chainsaws and frags....awful.

IMO, those who complained about the first game, simply sucked.

Well honestly not really:

Crysis - aside from its phenominal visuals and physics, it had totally open ended level design, that offered a freedom of choice and play style - enforced by the nanosuit.
COD4 - while it is essentially linear, high scripted gameplay, it was done very well, and offered much variety in level design, and events to keep it constantly fresh and engaging. Its multiplayer was also a unique twist.
Halo 3 - while its singleplayer was well.... Halo, its was feature packed, and its multiplayer sported loads of modes, options and the best community options for a console game.
Bioshock - Compelling singleplayer, that gave flexibility to the players combat sty-le (even if it is a 'dumbed down' shock 2).
Resistance 2 - linear shooter design, of course done well, however it too, like Halo 3 was feature packed.

Its not about reinventing the genre, its about standing out. Hell from that none of those games reinvent the genre at all...And quite a few of those games dont even have very unique design, rather bunking into almost the same category.

What KZ2 seems to have going for it in terms of unique-ness is, the cover system, visual design, and solid mp (with bots). Visuals are visuals - its the game design that concerns me, and honestly KZ2 seems to focus far more on the visual flair, than unique design, which puts it at a disadvantage, as its going to be compared directly to every Linear Scripted FPS out there. I have to say I like its cover system (blindfire in particular). That is quite unique.

And honestly I think too many devs rely on either visuals or more feature, ontop of a standard design template; but that is my personal opinion.

Why do people ignore this post. This is how i've been feeling about KZ2 the whole time. All it has is visuals. R2 set the bar as far as content is concerned for an FPS on the ps3. If Killzone 2 doesn't come with splitscreen and COOP then its going to suffer greatly as far as replayability is concerned. Playing multiplayer can only go so far. The more variety the more replayability.

what is with these physic gipsies? stop acting like you've played the final game. gsus... Its not all about visuals, read the impressions, previews..its all about gameplay too, the gritty realism, animations, hit detections, cover system, etc etc...it all comes together well and sets it self apart from many other shooters..the animations alone make it feel much more different. who cares about split screen, thats just you trying to bash it. wait and see.
