I usually stick to console gaming but Im upgrading my PC and I wanna try some games. Now look, I haven't played any PC games for quite a while. The last two Ive played were WoW and Warcraft III. What PC only games (not available on consoles) are must play in the last decade?

Thanks, that seems like a pretty good list. I forgot about Sims 3. I guess that would be the last PC game I played. I really like RPGs with good stories
make one man. recommendation topics are stupid because its hard to express yourself freely there and to keep track of all the recs targeted at your request.GazaAli
Im sorry, Im gonna sound like a jerk here, but did you read my actual message, or just the topic?

Before taking on a major company such as BioWare it might be good to gain a little bit of experience before hand, you could either do that by working for, as you said, a smaller company or by attaining a Bachelors Degree in something like Computer Science, Game Design, or anything related. Although it's not impossible to be hired without it, the experience and/or education will help you to make the most of your career as well as give you a head start.
Best of luck!

Thanks again - If this is the career I choose, then I would most definately go to College/University for it. Where is good? Anyone?
And is there a way I could contact them and show my interest at 14 then possibly be ready for them at say, 20?
One cool thing about the industy is there is really something for everyone. If you like numbers, system design, be a programmer. If you like being creative and coming up with new ideas, be a designer. If you like drawing, be an artist. If you like the business aspect, be a producer. You can also write, compose, really and endless amount of opportunity. Even beta testing to some extent. Keep looking around, there's something for everyone.

I think this is really what I was looking for.
From what you say, I think being a designer would be me. I get TONS of ideas.
One more question thought: I live in Alberta, Canada, and there is a BioWare company in Edmonton (one of my favourite game devs). Do you think I could get with them as a first job or would I have to get some experience with a less popular company before I take on BioWare?
I think the better question to ask is "What would you like to do?" Does the idea of programming a game excite you? Making 3D art? Maybe concept art or textures? Designing levels? Designing game mechanics? Working with game audio? Maybe you prefer the business end of it and simply want managerial duties? Creating advertisements?

I guess what I meant to say is 'What would you do for each job?'
I do play guitar but Im not really sure what the gaming/music industry would be like..
Recently, Ive really been thinking about what I'll do for a living. I decided to start with my passions and all I could really think of was gaming. Sure, Im not doing things game related 24/7 but I was upset when they announced no TOTS episode for a week (lol). Im alright with computers but Im definately not best student in the computer course. So I would like to know, what jobs are there revolving around gaming and technology? And what would each job entail? From journalism (like GS) to development (theres probably alot of jobs in this area)
Thanks.
P.S. Don't just say, "You could've just done a bit of research or thought"
