What's up everyone? Is anyone still out there?

Wow!!! Really that's all I got to say! It's been soooo long since I've posted a blog entry, that I really just don't know where to start :-O! Anyhow is there anyone that still comes here on to GS? I have to say, that ever since the revamp....I have rarely logged on. It for some reason just doesn't feel the same no more :-(. Oh well...I guess things do change....eventually. Anyhow I normally do updates on new stuff I've picked up/bought, but since I've got so much to catch up with and new stuff since my last entry, I'll probably post it later (when I find the time/energy of course). Other then that.......who's still around? Give a shout. Oh and lastly......Merry belated Christmas all!

Happy New Years all!

Well another year has passed and this is my first offical blog of the year. Actually it's more like the first offical blog entry on this newly revamped GS come to think of it :/. I have to say, it's going to take some getting use to this new GS design....that is if I ever do, as I have found myself visiting less frequently ever since. Anyhow in regards to what's new with me since my last blog entry, I have picked up quite a few new things (games, movies, hardware, etc). For new PC games, I just recently got Dead Rising 2 off of eBay and Skyrim: Legendary Edition from Future Shop's online. For blu-ray movies, I got World War Z, Star Trek Into Darkness Future Shop steelbook edition, Iron Man 3 blu-ray 3D combo pack, Man Of Steel Future Shop steelbook edition, Pacific Rim 3D combo pack, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 3D combo pack, Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters, Fast & Furious 6 steelbook edition (from Wal-Mart), Elysium Future Shop steelbook edition and The Wolverine 3D blu-ray combo pack. For PC hardware, I picked up a used Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty off of eBay which I will use on one of my PCs which is dual-booting both Windows 7 and Windows XP 64bit. As for my ride, I purchased a new set of aftermarket performance Fastline Performance Compliance Bearings as my current ones are popped. Right now I'm just waiting for them to arrive. I also unfortunately had to purchase a TSX badge for my vehicle (the car model name) as that was stolen off of my vehicle :O.

End of summmer.......

Well not officially just yet, but close to anyways.  And with that being said, another year and edition of the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) has just pasted.  And as in the past editions of the CNE, I've always come back with more bargain PC games loot :D.  As usual (for those who cared to follow my past blogs), the Entertainment Liquidators pavilion was the one that provided all the cheap bargain PC games.  The deal was 5 games for $20 cdn (before taxes).  The games I ended up getting were Syndicate,  F.E.A.R. 3, The First Templar, Lionheart: King's Crusade, Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization, Torchlight, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, Murder Mystery Collection (which includes Still Life 1 & 2, Post Mortem and The Cameron Files: The Secret At Loch Ness), Overlord II and Zuma's Revenge! Limited Edition Lunch Box.  I also picked up one of those novelty metal signs that says "The Man Cave" on it for $8 :D.  Outside of PC games, more recent blu-rays I picked up were Oblivion Future Shop Limited Edition Metalpak, The Great Gatsby, Cloud Atlas, Spartacus: War Of The Damned and The Walking Dead Season 1, 2 and 3.  As for my beloved ride, I got a new shifter knob, braided clutch line, shifter bushings and intake manifold heatshield gasket.  That being said, there should be more mods coming soon in the future.

The summer of '13 so far......

Well to start, I'll begin with the stuff that probably most meaningful to the subject matter of the GS website, lol.  In the last several months, the PC game that I did pick up was Mafia II for like $9.83 before taxes/employee discount ($10 after discount/taxes).  Yup...it sure looks like I've slowed up abit recently on my PC game collecting.  Thanks mainly to the stuff I've been doing/purchasing for my other baby (that would be my ride :D).  More on that later thought.  I also this past weekend purchased The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition Official Game Guide for $24.83 ($25.26 after employee discount/taxes).  On the movie front, I purchased on blu-ray OZ The Great And Powerful blu-ray/digital copy combo and Jack The Giant Slayer 3D blu-ray combo (blu-ray 3D/blu-ray/DVD pack).  On the PC hardware front, I finally after several months got my Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 cross-fire setup installed on one of my other PCs.  However in the process of installing that setup, I found that my Sound Blaster Fatal1ty Pro was impeding one of the GPUs because of the position of the PCI slot.  So I ended up having to remove it.  As a result, I purchased a new Sound Blaster Z as a potential replacement for that card as that is a PCI-E based soundcard and would not impede the cross-fire setup.  I say potential as I am thinking of using it on one of my other PC systems, and swapping out the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion that's already in it, as it should be XP 64bit compatible.  Hopefully the Sound Blaster Z in turn can be used with X-Fi Fatal1ty Champion's front bay panel.  Anyhow finally let's get on to my car.  I recently had the clutch/flywheel system in my car replaced with an Exedy Stage 1 Racing Clutch and Lightweight Flywheel.  Also several months ago, I purchased CT Engineering Header and Short Shifter.  Days before the company ship them out to me, I also purchased a set of Mugen Weather Visors.  Amazingly enough all three items arrived on the SAME day.  The very same day that I dropped off my car to have my clutch/flywheel set installed as well.  Shortly after getting that job done, I installed my weather visors and the very next day took my car to another shop to have the headers installed.  Long before all of this, I had also purchased and installed a set of racing pedals and a rear window visor which I had purchased off of eBay.  So for now, I only need to install my short shifter, which I plan to install myself one day.  But anyhow as things stand so far....my car is running just great!  Especially with the new clutch/flywheel kit :D.  Stay tuned....as I plan on a few other mods in the future ;).

Another New Year and B-Day passes on........

Yup just celebrated my B-Day earlier this month.  But in other matters relating to PC games and media entertainment collecting, I did pick up some new stuff as usual.  For PC games I picked up Call Of Duty: Black Ops and The Sims 2: Apartment Life expansion pack for $19.97 and $14.97 respectively (before sales taxes).  Most recently (like most SCII fans) I picked up Starcraft II: Heart Of The Swarm for a total of $36.69 after taxes and a $8.50 store credit @ EB Games :D.  For movies in the last several months since the New Years, I picked up The Adventures Of Tintin Blu-Ray 3D combo pack, Dredd Blu-Ray 3D combo pack, End Of Watch Blu-Ray/DVD, Flight Blu-Ray combo pack and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Blu-Ray 3D combo pack.  And that pretty much rounds off everything rather quietly so far this year.  But then again, I've been putting more of my $$$ towards my car so far, as I'll be swapping out my winters for my summer wheels/tires.  And with that, I'll be upgrading the suspensions to the factory optional sport suspensions, as well as replacing the rear sway bar and bushings with a new stronger/firmer one :D.

X-Mas/Holiday loot

So another X-Mas and year is about to pass. But not before I picked up more new stuff in the last two months, just in time to end off the year :D. First to start, I ended up getting two Sapphire Radeon HD 7970s. I got one recently during this Boxing Day week for $369.99 ($418.09 after taxes) and the other during the Black Friday sale week back in November (which is now in effect locally here where I live, as it is an American based sale week) for $379.99 ($429.39 afte taxes), both from Canada Computers. Obviously I at some point in time plan to Crossfire those two bad boys in my AMD Phenom X6 1100T based system. For new PC games, I got Max Payne 3, the Max Payne 3 strategy guide and the Diablo III strategy guide for $19.99, $19.83 (with employee discount) and $14.95 respectively (before taxes). On Boxing Day I picked up both Dishonoured and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for $29.99 each (before taxes) at Future Shop. As for movies/shows, I picked up The Dark Knight Rises Future Shop Steelbook Edition for $27.99 and Family Guy Vol. 9 DVD for $10 (with employee discount). During the Boxing Day week, I got on Blu-Ray The Campaign ($15), Horrible Bosses ($10), Battleship ($15), Lockout ($15), The Hangover ($7), Ice Age: Continental Drift Blu-Ray 3D combo ($25) and finally, Puss In Boots Blu-Ray 3D combo ($20).

i7 990 Extreme Edition and other new stuff

Well it's another long overdue blog update of mines, so I'll waste no time. As the title implies, I recently purchased an i7 990 Extreme Edition (for the socket 1366) for one of my PC rigs. I installed it in my rig that was running my i7 980 (non-extreme edtion) and now that i7 980 is happily running in my "media-based" rig which was pictured in my last blog update. So offically I have 3 PCs sporting hexa-core based CPUs (i7 990X, i7 980 and Athlon 1100T). Other new stuff I purchased in the last few months were Snow White And The Huntsman Future Shop Steelbook Edition, Marvel's The Avengers Steelbook Edition (Blu-Ray combo pack which includes both Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D version), Prometheus Blu-Ray combo pack (with Blu-Ray 3D version), Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Blu-Ray combo pack (with Blu-Ray 3D version) and The Amazing Spider-Man Future Shop Steelbook Editon. For games I purchased Diablo III, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and another copy of Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition which I will hold onto to see if appreciates in $$$ value over time :D. I purchased the three games with one of my Wal-Mart employee appreciation month coupons, so I save a few $$$ on them there altogether :D. In total I paid $144.18 for all three games after discount/taxes. Some other purchases I made with my other two employee coupons were an Armor-All In-Car Vac, STP Tire Shine 2-pack and Epson High-Capacity Ink Colour Pack.

Another year @ The Canadian National Exhibition

Well the end of summer is near and that means the annual Canadian National Exhibition (CNE or EX) has arrived (ending on the Labour Day wknd). And with that, comes MORE stuff......in particular MORE PC games! Checking out my favourite vendor at the EX (Entertainment Deals), I was able to pickup a total of 10 PC games at the deal of 5 games for $20. In total I spent $45.20 on the PC games. In case you were wondering, the games I ended up purchasing were Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Shift 2: Unleashed Limited Edition, Homefront, Red Faction: Armageddon, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War II Chaos Rising, King's Bounty: Armoured Princess/Crossworlds combo pack, The Chronicles Of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena, The Sims 2: Fun With Pets Collection pack (includes Mansion & Garden Stuff and Family Fun Stuff), FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage and Another World: 15th Anniversary Edition. On top of that, I purchased a bottle of cologne called "US Army" for $9.99 ($11.29 with taxes). Since I haven't made a blog update in a while, I have also made more purchases in the last months leading up to this update. For movies I purchased John Carter Future Shop Exclusive Steelbook Blu-Ray 3D combo pack, Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows Future Shop Exclusive Steelbook Blu-Ray combo pack, Project X Blu-Ray combo pack, 21 Jump Street Blu-Ray version, Wrath Of The Titans Future Shop Exclusive Steelbook Blu-Ray combo pack, The Hunger Games Future Shop Exclusive Steelbook 2-disc Blu-Ray/Digital Copy pack and The Dictator Blu-Ray combo pack. For PC games I picked up Gray Matter off of eBay for $25.49 US (including shipping charge) and Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition from Wal-Mart.

New stuff.......

Yup finally an update after almost several months. Anyhow haven't bought any new PC games recently . Yes if you can really believe that! However in regards to PC games, I must say that Kickstarter.com sure does look very interesting! Especially with funding for Wasteland 2 now in place and another adventure gaming classic, a new installment of the Tex Murphy series waiting to be fully funded in the works. Anyhow on the movies side, I did get some new blu-ray movies. The movies I got were War Horse, Titanic TV miniseries, Chronicle and The Grey. War Horse at the time had a $5 vendor coupon available so that helped with the cost. All blu-rays (except Titanic) were combo packs that either included a DVD version or DVD and digital copy combined. On another note, in my last update I forgot to mention that I had bought a new PSU for my latest PC build. It was a Seasonic X-1250. So that should have no problem powering my Tri-SLI 560ti 448 cores setup :D. Speaking of which, I promised I'd post pics of my most recently PC build, so here it is. Try and not drool too much ppl :P.

Long over due update!

Well it's now been a few months since I've updated, but I'll make it as quick as I can. Yes since my last update, I have completely assembled my new replacement entertainment PC. The specs on it are the same as I mentioned in my previous blogs..........EXCEPT that I had just recently found a soon-to-be buyer for my triple 8800GTX GPUs. As a result, I purchased triple GTX 560 ti 448 cores GPUs. So that pretty much makes that machine all the more up to date :D. For other purchases of interest the past few months, the newest PC games I've purchased are Resident Evil 5, Mini Ninjas, Street Fighter IV, Dead Space 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call Of Pripyat and Prototype. If you wondering what the cost of all the games were, respectively in order they $9.99, $9.99, $4.99, $9.99, $4.97 and $9.97 before taxes :D. As for movies, I got Moby Dick, American Graffiti, Real Steel, Tower Heist, Immortals (Future Shop Steelcase Edition) and Hugo. All movies were Blu-Ray combo packs (which at least included the DVD version). I do plan on getting War Horse soon, as it is being released soon.
