CvS2: King's 40-hit combo

Last night I had nothing to do so I started playing CvS2, and I was trying some new combos in practice mode until I choose King and I found out about her 40-hit combo. I was using EX1 groove (with a C-groove super meter and chain combo and cancel any move were turned on) and I had my super meter full. To do this combo, I alternated between Trap Shot (rdp+HK) and Illusion Dance (qcf, hcb+K), the average number of hits I got was 30 hits, but if you cancel the moves at the exactly right time you can get a 40-hit combo. Here is the combo:

Trap Shot (HK), Illusion Dance (MK), Trap Shot (HK), Illusion Dance (LP)

I'm not a expert in fighting games so I hard a hard time figuring out the correct timing to get the 40-hit combo. Timing is the key in here, if you cancel the move too early you will get less than 40 hits (which still does a good bit of damage) if you take too long to cancel the move you won't be able to link the moves together.

This is a pretty cool combo but I don't know how useful this combo would be in a real fight. However, you if pull this off it will do a lot of damage. I was using a ratio 2 King against a ratio 2 Kyo and the 40-hit combo took away a little over half of his life.

Plans for this weekend

This weekend I'll be playing Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. I rented this game yesterday and last night I played it for a while (yeah, right, a while... playing from 8PM 'til 2AM ain't a little while, buddy!) but since my first class today was at noon that wasn't a problem at all. I'm on the seventh planet or so and depending of how much time I spend on this game this weekend I might finish it by Sunday night.

Other than that, I might rent a couple of movies, spend some time on the GS forums, watch some TV, all the usual stuff.

Renting games online

I've been renting games at Gamefly for a while and I've been very satisfied with it. However, I just read in the GS forums about another site called Gameznflix. At gamefly, I pay $23 a month and I can play 2 games at a time while in Gameznflix the lowest plan is $19 and I can play 3 games at a time. Based on that I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my Gamefly subscription and creating an account at Gameznflix, after all it's going to be a much better deal.

Gaming Updates 10/09/04

Last I played NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 with my friends and we had a lot of fun. They're are OK but the fact that I've played that game many times and that I know all the tracks very well makes a lot of difference. We played both with and without cops and we even played a few cop vs. racer matches (one person races, the other person is the cop and has to catch the racer 3 times). That was the first time I played You're the Cop mode so I discovered that I still had to unlock 4 out of 5 police cars for this mode. This morning I unlocked all the cop cars so, next time I play with my friends we'll have all the police cars available.

MK: Deception is on it's way

I've rented MK: Deception through GameFly and it should be in my mailbox soon. I'm not much into 3D-fighting games but I'm going to give MK: Deception a try. It looks fantastic and it seems to have some improvements if compared to MK: Deadly Alliance (2 fatalities, combo breakers, etc.). I hope I'll enjoy this game as much as I enjoy 2D-fighting.
