He didn't actually say it was going to be perfect, he said he is a perfectionist, other developers say that but obviously there must be compromises. If Kaz had his choice I honestly think GT5 would still be in production for another entire year at least. Its obvious they were pushed into releasing it and I understand when people say they had enough time. However, one must understand that PD aren't a huge team and the game was rebuilt from scratch for the PS3. Anyone that says its GT4 HD is just being ignorant.

The main reason people say GT5 flopped is because of the standard cars, thats the MAIN reason. Yes, the standard cars are a flop there is no denying it. BUT, the gameplay is tuned to perfection and the driving experience is the best, even the reviews that bashed the game admitted that. I'm not saying GT5 didn't have short comings, it definitely did. However to dismiss it is as rubbish and a huge flop is stupid and unfair. Its still a great game and the it deserves its metacritic score.

Outside in the real world 84 is a solid score, not perfect but good none the less. Anyone that hyped it as 10/10 were simply asking to be disappointed.

nope theres a lot more than that. Gran turismo has been the racing sim king before Forza came along for many many years. It sold millions and became a well known and well established franchise. Naturally if the next game in the series didn't live up to the hype the floppage and backlash would be stronger. There's a reason why not many people are excited for the new Zelda you know.

Then there's the fact Turn 10 releasedthree AAA forza games in between GT4 and GT5, and are making another set for release this year. Comparatively, the fact it took Polyphony 6 years to produce the flop that is GT5 added more to its floppage.

And then there's the fact this is the first current gen, HD iteration of Gran Turismo.

In the past flops have not been spared, and GT5 gets no special treatment. Besides, as the hype thread set the hype at AAA, its a flop on SW.

dont you love how TC assumes people will only choose one console, both this gen and last gen?

Again with the more expensive thing? The ps2 was $199 after roughly a year and a half, and was $179 after 3 years. And check this one out, I can link.. so read this link. By GameSpot's own news, but if you wanna be certain.. wait till Nintendo releases worldwide numbers later this month. It couldn't get any more obvious if I was showing it to you in person. Wii sales are not slowing down.

the jump from vhs to dvd was pretty big.

wii doesnt offer anything really useful like that.

it wont outsell ps2.

like i said in another thread, of course it won't outsell it because Nintendo won't have to keep milking it long after this gen is gone to make back lost money like with the PS3 8)
