I am not even going to try to get into this argument because I do not feel like going to dictionary.com to look up a smart-sounding word to insert into every sentence to make me look intelligent, so I am just going to say this. I am a Theist. I believe in God because believing in an almighty creator that brought life to this universe is ridiculous, but believing that this beautiful, fascinating, and complex world came by chance is even more preposterous. God is the ONLY halfway logical reason for the universe existing. Science can only trace back so far , but then you hit the big bang, and that one big "?" destroys any and all theories that try to touch it. There is only one explanation. Something a lot bigger than energy and mass caused the big bang.
Lets say that energy created the Big Bang. Great, but then what created Energy. Energy HAD to be created, and supposedly energy cannot be created or destroyed. So that leaves plot holes the size of the universe itself. The belief of God leaves NO plotholes (in my mind atleast). I am not talking about the "biblical" version of God, because the bible (IMO) is mostly a work of fiction. I am talking about just the idea of a superior being who created the universe and all the essential atoms needed to create everything in the universe. Ultimately it is up to the end-user to decide how much of a role God played in our World, but one thing is certain. Something bigger than anything we can possibly comprehend started this all, and we are not going to figure it out by using mathematical equations.
I believe God is always watching over me and protecting me. Things have happened in my life that are unexplainable, and call it silly, but that is enough proof for me.
