Now, i know im probably about to be flamed to death about this thread and i just wanted to say that I own both the PS3 and Xbox 360 (FatedXPSN & FatedX36O) and i enjoy both of them but i found some interesting information when searching around Wikipedia out of boredom.

"Known during development asXbox Next,Xenon,Xbox 2,Xbox FSorNextBox[12], the Xbox 360 was conceived in early 2003.[13]In February 2003, planning for the Xenonsoftware platformbegan, and was headed by Microsoft's Vice PresidentJ Allard.[13]That month, Microsoft held an event for 400 developers inBellevue, Washingtonto recruit support for the system.[13]Also that month,Peter Moore, former president ofSegaof America, joined Microsoft. On August 12, 2003, ATI signed on to produce the graphic processing unit for the new console, a deal which was publicly announced two days later.[14]Before the launch of the Xbox 360, severalAlphadevelopment kits were spotted usingApple'sPower Mac G5hardware. This was due to the system'sPowerPC 970processor running the samePowerPCarchitecture that the Xbox 360 would eventually run underIBM'sXenonprocessor. The cores of the Xenonprocessorwere developed using a slightly-modified version of thePlayStation 3'sCell ProcessorPPE architecture. According to David Shippy and Mickie Phipps, theIBMemployees were "hiding" their work from Sony and Toshiba."[15]"

Everybody is complaining on how the grenades are overpowered and are able to kill you in a single explosion, yet nobody complaing about how that happens in Modern Warfare 2 or numerous other FPS games.

Now Halo has never been known for its Realism, and yes you play as a super soldier but here's the thing.

Halo 1-3 had you play as the SPARTAN-II John-117, aka Master Chief. Spartan-II's were bred to be able to handle anything that was thrown at them, in turn they had better survivability than anyone in the UNSC (Sarge was a Spartan-I, though that was never quite covered aside from the the Halo: Novel, the Cole Protocol and bits of the novel The Flood). Spartan-II's wore MUCH stronger armor than the Spartan-III's, allowing them to withstand more damage from enemy fire and explosions.

In Halo:Reach, a majority of Noble team are Spartan-III's, one is a Spartan-II. SPARTAN-III's wore armor that was less powerful than the SPARTAN-II's. SPARTAN-III's were bred for advanced recon warfare, built-in active-camo in their armor, faster but not stronger than the SPARTAN-II's. Grenade damage is fine in the sense of canon in the universe of Halo.

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

I read halopedia and the armor Noble Team is wearing is a variant of the MJOLNIR mark V (i.e. Halo 1 armor).

Yes it is a variant, but it was constructed to be lighter for better movement, the sacrifice is its legendary ability to withstand almost anything, its cut to half of what it was.

Honestly i don't get all the hype about 3d, its gives me a horrible headache. and on a side note there are games i've seen coming out on 360 with a 3D Mode, a recent Indie Game that i have forgotten the name off but is on the marketplace has a 3D mode, all you need are red-blue filter glasses. i don't understand why developers/publishers just add a 3D mode to their games for the gamers who want to experience 3D but cannot afford to shell out thousands of dollars for a brand new 3D set when people are just beginning to shell out for 1080p. 3D mode is the money saver, the PC has had that option for a few years now with the release of Nvidia's glasses and what not

so i guess then that the sony playstation 3 is actually the nvidia/ibm/sony/toshiba PS3, since all those companies make money off of every ps3 soldchopperdave447
pretty much, Sony is its brand name since it was Sony's idea. Its all business, video games has always been business first.

Video Games has always been business first, always will be. Everyones out there trying to make money, EVEN Sony & Nintendo, not just MS. This is BUSINESS more than anything else. Nobody really favors the people.

Sony makes money when people buy Sony Laptops and Sony Monitors and Sony TVs.II_Seraphim_II
Sony Laptops and Desktops run Microsoft Windows OS...so they both get money. MS get some from letting Sony use their OS and Sony gets some from sales, they earn very little money from selling them because they use computer parts manufactured by other companies and therefore must pay them for their parts. The same goes with every other company out there. Their all business partners, yes that includes MS and Sony

Its a long drawn out argument here, but I was wondering how many people actually know that Microsoft actually makes money on Games For Windows and anything that is produced using the windows platform.

drakecool1

so does sony when they put the games on dvd.

Directly, Microsoft makes zero on any typical Windows app. The only way they make money is indirectly though increases sales of Windows, or through more sales of their development products.

Teufelhuhn
They still make money off of Games For Windows since it is more than likely Microsoft Game Studios has been involved in it whether its development, publishing or distribution. On a side note, most Games For Windows uses Live Anywhere which is pretty much like XBL without the fees...they gain money off that through DLC content. They gain very little money though And no....Sony doesn't get money from putting games on DVD...they didnt. SOny didnt invent the DVD, the DVD was invented by Toshiba and a company called Matushusita
