@fifalol: I understand what you mean but looks are important too! The eye needs some satisfaction, thats why you have the option file otherwise you would not have bothered with it, but you did! its all part of the package!
@fifalol: I did not know that! Last year they didn't! unless I have been doing it wrong (but I don't see how as I was adding the option file correctly). Is this a new development then?
@autumnvarela: I get what you are saying about the FUT mode distracting developer efforts from the main game but you are definitely putting a negative spin on it all. They invented a good game mode and they added it to the game and have been for a while. Thats not a bad thing.
@Pac1Man: good that you can keep playing older editions of Fifa... I couldn't put up with missing out on the new teams, modes and presentations from the newest versions!
1) Bad online infrastructure - always get matched with AAA teams no matter which team I use. Fifa is another level on this one.
2) Terrible presentation and lack of polish in menus, commentary. Fifa really is another level on this one too.
As far as a game of football is concerned, Res ticks the right boxes for me but I'm sorry, the small things like commentary and presentation matter too. Not to mention a solid online experience. we are in 2017 after all...
PES should cost 10£ less to make up for the lack of licences. If it cost lest I think people would put PES' shortcomings in perspective.
@PrpleTrtleBuBum: So an even more stripped back and barebones footballing experience? I see where you are going with this but then I think the game would sell even less. Don't forget they need to sell and make money as a business.
Another thing which I feel needs to be mentioned. PES is incredibly far behind when it comes to presentation and I don't mean graphics. Fifa really nails a lot of the little things like menus, those mini game challenges, the journey, reliable online matchmaking (in PES it always seems I get matched against Barcelona no matter what) and not to mention the polish in FUT and other modes like career mode (at least judging on what I can see so far about fifa18). Ok, some of the things I mention here are not so little, but they could be considered complimentary to the main gameplay experience and it all adds up in making the buyer feel like they are getting value. Its very important to have satisfying gameplay and giving the player the best "feeling" when playing, however the presentation package as a whole is very important too and while I understand that PES might have a smaller budget for licences and such, they desperately need to get rid of all the clunkiness of the menus and just bring their game modes into the new age. Oh and also get rid of those stupid notifications/announcement every time I load the game. Cmon PES sort it out.
