Looking forward to a game lineup to see what there will be. I don't care what the PS5 looks like, as long as Playstation keeps tradition with having the been exclusives. I love that Sony is focusing more on the games with the launch of the PS5. Showing what the console looks like isn't all the important. I mean image it the other way around. Imagine Sony showing the PS5 and it's design and all that jazz, but not showing any games. People would be saying "show games, where are the games, I want to see games". But because Sony is focusing more on the games, you have kids saying "I want to see what the PS5 looks like, just show us the console design".
@romeogblkknight: "Some of these comments are amusing and it's the same thing everytime new consoles launch but if you really look at it Sony really hasn't had the most powerful consoles each time they launched one"
And your comment is right there with the amusing ones. What does "most powerful console" have to do with anything?? GAMES are what matters, and it's always been accepted that Playstation has the best exclusives. I'd rather play a great PS2 game (on a PS2) rather than some crappy game with the best graphics on the most powerful gaming system in the world of all time. Power, graphics, aesthetics, storage space (to a certain extent), are all at the bottom of the list of importance. At the top of the list? The games themselves.
Thank you Sony, for focusing on the games above everything else. A lot of kiddies out there crying over what the console looks like, and that doesn't even matter. As long as the games are amazing (as they have been for PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4), the console could look like a cardboard box for all I care. I'd rather have a console look like a cardboard box that plays amazing games, rather than the most sleek, futuristic, sharp looking console of all time that plays crappy games. Now obviously, the most likely outcome will be a cool looking console and amazing games..... so yes, we will most likely get both in the end anyway. But you kiddies out there need to learn what's most important when it comes to gaming (the actual games themselves). I know it's just my opinion, but I'd guess it's a popular opinion.
@batman90: You have it backwards. Sony is doing it correctly. Who cares what the thing looks like if it pays crappy games? The best thing about Playstation is that it always puts the GAMES first, above everything else. This is the best move Sony can make. You'll understand when you get older, that aesthetics aren't as important as the games themselves.
I was one of the suckers who pre-ordered GTA V back in 2013 and got it on launch day in September (the Beta version.... of course, I didn't know it was the Beta version back then). Loved single player mode... mulitplayer was kind of crappy, but playable. But then I was lucky enough to have killed a bounty with 2 Billion (yes Billion) dollars on his head (a hack some people were doing, i guess). With that money, multiplayer became infinitely more enjoyable. Then in February 2014, Rockstar fixed the glitch and I only had around 1 million dollars. I stopped playing a few days later (and haven't played it since) because the game was so boring. Morale of the story? Microtransactions ruin video games. If microtransaction did not exists, there would be no need to deprive gamers from in-game content that is pay-to-win (believe me, I was winning a lot of deathmatches online when I had that 2 Billion Dollars because I was able to call in for support as often and whenever I wanted) , and also deprive gamers from in-game content that is more fun. The other really crappy thing Rockstar did was nerf farming for money (so they could sell more shark cards). I remember doing a mission that earned the most money the fastest. It wasn't anywhere near "fast" though. It still took several hours to grind out to get any decent amount of money. So what does Rockstar do?? They nerf it, so instead of grinding for like 10 hours to afford 1 vehicle (which was a long time in it's own right).... you would have to grind 50 hours for it now. Those numbers are just arbitrary, but that's what it was like. EA, Rockstar and Square Enix are on my no-respect, no-support, no-buy list.
On a side note: I always hate microtransaction, always. They are always a bad thing. With that said, I obviously can understand them being in a Free-to-Play game (NEVER in a game that you pay for up front though (like GTA V). But even in the free-to-play games, they are rarely done right. Path of Exile probably does microtransactions the best when it comes to not making the microtransactions pay-to-win..... BUT they probably do the worst in pricing them. In order to get a 100% aesthetic costume (no special abilities come with it, 100% just for looks) they would cost anywhere from $30-OVER $100 dollars.... $100 for ONE armor set (just for looks).
