One Year at GS, Azure-Supernova banned =O

Well one year ago today I joined Gamespot. A lot has happened in that year, joined some good unions, seen some die, seen some flourish, met a lot of good people here too. I'm not going to make a list of people though...I'll just say everyone I know is great, and all for different reasons. So yeah its been a pretty great year.

In not so good news, Azure-Supernova was banned. So yeah thats prettybad was for something to do with associating with banned users. Anyways he's appealing about the ban because he didn't fo anything wrong and hopefully he'll get his account reactivated.

In other news, still playing guitar. Starting to remember everything, slowly, but it'll all come back. Been playing The Sims 3, it's a great game. So addictive. Played a little bit of Oblivion the other day. I've got a few more days off school while exams are still taking place, then i'm back at school for two weeks, then it's school holidays for like two or three weeks then back at school again. I've been listening to a fair bit of music...especially Eskimo Joe's new album. It's pretty good. I finally got work experienced organised so my school will be happy. It was meant to be organised by last monday but I don't really care...as long as its organised I'm happy. I've done a little bit of writing, not too much though. But i'm happy with what I wrote so hopefully the writer's block is going away. I re-read Temple by Matt Reilly. Good book. Now I picked up The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks again, another great book. I've got futsal tonight. Hopefully we'll win. I'll probably hang out with friends tomorrow. I'm working on Sunday.

Two nights ago I went into school to go to this meeting. It was about this program called World Challenge. We organise groups of students from our school to go over to Vietnam for a month at the end of next year, after exams. It sounds really interesting. We have to raise money for it and everything with fundraisers and stuff. I'm still not 100% sure if I wanna do it ot not. Anyway once in Vietnam, us student take control. We plan absolutely everything: food, accommodation, our 10 day hike, our community service that we are meant to while over there. It sounds great. There will still be a teacher and a World Challenge leader that come with us but all they do is watch. We do everything else. So i'll be thinking about doing that. That's all.

Exams are over! =D

Well actually they were over friday...but whatever. Today is the start of my week off school! So after a nice sleep-in this morning I got up, got dressed and headed to EB Games to pick up my pre-ordered copy of The Sims 3 Collectors Edition. I haven't played it yet...it's still installing. And while I was at EB i decided to pre-order Assassins Creed 2. This is what i'm getting. I'll probably pre-order Modern Warfare 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction soon...once i've got some more money...

Yeah well as for exams, I think I went well. They were all easier than I thought they'd be, especially the Maths and Physics ones.

So in my week off I probably won't be doing too much...just some gaming, reading, writing (if I can finally get over the writing block), hanging out with friends, and playing a bit of guitar. I hadn't played my guitar for ages...and I've just about forgotten how to play. So I've been looking up some tabs on the internet...mainly some Metallica ones like Enter Sandman, One and Nothing Else Matters...all good songs.

So yeah not too much has happened.

Oh,Happy Belated-Birthday to Azure-Supernova!

Thanks for reading and I'll cya 'round

Finally...information about games....thank you E3

Well so far I've only watched a few things about a couple of games that was shown at E3. I've been to busy with exams. (Had English exam today, think I went okay. Philosophy, physics and maths left.) Anyway i'll get around to watching all of the conferences from E3. From what i've seen though, i'm pretty happy.

Modern Warfare 2. Well it looks absolutely great so far. I was a big fan of the original modern warfare and mw2 looks amazing. I can't wait until its out.It is a game i will definitely buy. And a snow mobile chase...that was epic. I wanna do that. It looked intense.

Assassins Creed 2. I found Assassins Creed an awesome game...I especially loved the story in it. The only downside to it was how repetitive it got. It looks like they've fixed that problem in AC2 though. Starting off not being an assassin and then getting better and better...it looks just amazing. That is a must-buy game for me. I'll also be really interested in what they do with the story of the game and how much you'll get to play as Desmond. And Leonardo Da Vinci...using his inventions would be great. And a double hidden blade looks like it could be fun.

And finally Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction. I have been waiting for this game since it was originally announced,,,its been a horrible few years having to wait that long. But finally there's information about it. It seems really different from the other Splinter Cell games but a good different. Instead of sneaking around slowly and cautiously, you move quick, fast and are very lethal. Some of the new features look great...especially the marking ability. Sure, marking soldiers is fun. But marking other objects in the environment...thats looks awesome. Shooting out the lights, shooting out chandeliers...I am really looking forward to the release of this. Easily another must-buy game.

So thats all i've watched so far. I'll probably say more about things once i've watched all the conferences but those three games were what I was really looking forward to.

In non-gaming related news. School. Exams. As I said before, one down, three to go. One tomorrow. Two friday. Entire second week off. That week will probably involve some gaming, reading, hopefully some writing (kinda had a writers block) or hanging out with friends. Well I'm not sure if i mentioned in my last blog or not, but I read the Celestine Prophecy. It was great. My mum also went out and bought the other two books in the series...i'm up to the last one. I like the books. They're different from most things I read. And now some music-related news. Eskimo Joe's new album Inshalla came out earlier this week. I got it. I love it.

Yeah well there's not too much else...i've nearly been here at GS for a year. Will do a blog on the one year anniversary if I have time and don't forget.

So what did everyone else think about E3? Did you see what you wanted to?

Todays blog

I think i'll start this blog with what i've done today...well this morning I went to school...did some pretty boring work...then I had a physics test which I absolutely hated. Got a little bit of maths homework which i've finished so no problem there. I've got an english assignment due at the end of this week and i've done barely any work on it. I'll probably do it tomorrow after school. Anyway after school I went to Kirstens and hung out at her place for a few hours. It was good fun.

I also went to see one of my teachers today to see about changing my subjects for next semester. All i've got to say is that my school absolutely sucks. I wanted to change into a science subject (chemistry or biology). I said that I'd be willing to change out of English literature or IT programming. The only science subject they had available in the same time slot as them was physics. And I am NOT doing that again. I had to change out of philosophy (a subject that I would've liked to have done) so that I could get into biology. And i've got one week until exams...i've gotta do revision, revision and more revision...

In other news...not too much has happened...last week on friday I went around to kirstens after school...stayed there for a while. That night I had futsal. We lost. We were missing two of our players so it sucked. If they had been playing though we woulda won. Saturday Kirsten invited me over for lunch so i walked around to her place around 11.30...ended up staying there for tea and didn't get home until about 9. Sunday I had work...it was pretty good. Worked with people I hadn't worked with for a while and I got some money.

Haven't had as much time as i would've liked for gaming, i've written nearly nothing because i can't think of what to write, I read The Celestine Prophecy. It was a pretty interesting book. I need to get the other ones in the series. Thats 'bout all.

Thanks for reading and i'll cya 'round

Blog Time!

Been about a fortnight since i've done a blog so i thought i'd just let everyone know that i'm still alive. So yeah a bit has happened this past two weeks.

School. Well...its still pretty boring. Even better I've got exams starting in two weeks...yay...anyway I did the Information Technology Taster program they were running at the university on Wednesday. It was okay. Half of it was about leadership and management. That was pretty boring...except for when half the group had to put on blindfolds and make some things out of lego by following our instructions...that was hilarious. After that we went and did abit of work in Photoshop...all really simple stuff. Then we had a barbecue for lunch. Then back to school and we got dismissed about 2 hours before then end of school.

On Friday I went to the Get into Games Expo...it was really crappy. They had like like nearly no games to play so it was pretty boring. But me and my friends did find one game that kept us amused for a while. Its called the typing of the dead and it was so much fun. The best part of the day was meeting up with some of my friends that I hadn't seen for like 4 years...it was great catching up with them. There was also guitar hero metallica competitions...they were great. I didn't have time for a go though which sucked.

Worst thing about those days off school is now i'm behind in like every subject...I use to be ahead in all my classes.

Been doing a bit of reading lately...I read the Day of the Jackal, Dogs of War, The Negotiator, and Avenger all by Frederick Forsyth. They were good books and weren't too long either. ANd those were the last books I had to read. So I decided to re-read another book...Seven Ancient Wonders by Matthew Reilly. I've said it before, but Matt Reilly is one of my favourite authors and this series is great. I can't wait until October 20th...he releases The Five Greatest Warriors..its going to be awesome. I'm also thinking of re-reading the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons seeing Dan Brown is bringing out a new book sometime soon. And I also need to go and see the movie Angels and Demons. I loved the book and I seriously hope the movie won't disappoint.

Next...well we've had a few games of futsal. One game was against the all girls team. We beat them 5-3. It was a pretty good game and we played better this this time than we did last time. And last friday we played against a new time in the under-16s comp. They were really good. The beat us 12-7. It was a really fun game though and I scored a goal...i was pretty proud of that. I'm back doing karate again after having a pretty long break. The first day I went back it nearly killed me. It was so hard and my muscles were hurting for like three days after it. Last week when I went though I felt much better...besides a bit of pain across my shoulders. This week i'm gonna do a few more classes..thinking of going back to sparring. It'll be good fun.

It kinda sucks cos I haven't been doing too much writing the past two weeks. I've just had a massive writers block and I haven't had time to do any writing anyway.

Gaming...i haven't played any games on my PC or 360 for ages. Well not any real games. I did download the typing of the dead but only cos its funny. So i've played that but I don't really consider playing that as gaming.

Yesterday...kinda boring...baby sat my siblings for about 4 hours in the morning while my mum took one of my sisters to ballet and went out and did some shopping. And I also watched movies yesterday..shanghai noon and shanghai knights...they're great movies.

Today...well I did a bit of cooking this morning. Made some sausage rolls, this raspberry slice which is really nice and then also started getting some vegetables ready for a roast we had for tea. So I finished all that and by then it was about 2 in the afternoon and I got a text from Kirsten asking me to go around to her place. (Oh yeah...I don't think I said in my last blog cos it happened after that but I asked her out so now we're going out :D) So yeah I spent a few hours at her place with her family. Then I walked back home and had a nice roast for tea, read a bit more of Seven Ancient Wonders...and now i'm typing up this blog.

So yeah thats whats happened the last two weeks...

Thanks for reading and I'll cya 'round

Time for another blog

Hmm...were to start...
Well being back at school kinda sucks. I've been getting a fair bit of maths work but i manage to keep up to date with it. Next week I've got a physics and maths test...should be soooo much fun. And even better the maths test is a no-tech test. Anyway at least there is a positive side to school...hanging out with all my friends. That is easily the best thing about school. I've still got that IT taster program thing on the 13th of this month...and also the Get into Games Expo on the 15th. So hopefully they'll be good. And they've finally decided to say when the GAP year with the defenceforces is...i think it was the 19th...

We're I live its been getting kinda cold...like 0 - 7 degrees celsius. The worst part: its not even winter yet...its only autumn...so I expect it to get a lot colder...

Uhh...next topic...futsal. Our game that we played last week didn't exactly turn out right. They stuffed up the sheet son who was playing who...so the team we were meant to be playing thought they had the bye so they didn't show up.They also stuffed it up for the other team I play for. So our under 16's team waited about 40 minutes until our Social team arrived and we played each other. It was so much fun. Our game last night was good too. We played against a friends team. Last time we played them they beat us...this time it we drew 3-3.

Well I couldn't think up many ideas of anything else to right...so I decided I'd keep working on the other story I was writing. I've written about another two pages...i think. I also let Kirsten (one of my friends) read it and she thought it was really good. So yeah...i'll be working on that story a bit more.

Tomorrow should be totally awesome. Me, Delaney, Michael and maybe Harley are going to see X-men Origins: Wolverine. So we're gonna have a pretty awesome time there.

Some sad news...my mobile died. It just froze up and stopped working. So I decided to go and buy a new phone. I ended up using like all of my money...i even had to borrow some off my mum. But I got a new phone and its really good and i'm happy with it.

I might start playing hockey for a team outside of school. My sister's friend's dad is a coach of one of the hockey teams so I'm gonna find out about that. It'd be fun because then i'd be playing against Michael and Jarred. Also it'd be good seeing I can't play seniors hockey at school this year because of my IT course. On wednesday I think it i'm going to karate. I decided to start back up after a bit of a break. Lets hope I remember everything.

Sadly, I haven't actually done much gaming. With my homework and everything i'm just not getting enough time to game as much as I use to.

Besides all of that...I don't think i've done much. Been talking to Delaney and Kirsten on MSN a fair bit...well...lots actually, been listening to a bit of music, been working a bit. On that topic I've been thinking about cutting down to only working one shift a week. I won't get as much money which sucks...but I get more time to study, game, read, write, and most importantly have a social life. Because of school and work i barely ever get to hang out with friends on weekends. So i'm talk to my boss about that...I don't think he'd mind..especially seeing i've been working those shifts for the past...i dunno...two years.

So yeah....

Thanks for reading and i'll cya 'round

The holidays are over...back at school....some other stuff too

First week back at school...the best thing has definitely been catching up with all my friends. Besides that...it has sucked. My class has been giving absolutely tons of maths homework and its really annoying. We don't even finish our current work and the teacher is handing out more work. I'm coping with it though...its annoying but still easy...only cos its the start of a new topic. It'll get harder.

In English we're reading a book called Runner. It's an okay book...I guess. We've got to mark places mentioned in the book on a map, doing chapter summaries and answer a few question. All easy enough.

Philosophy has been kinda boring.

And Physics sucks. Except for when we had it yesterday. Our normal teacher was away so we had a substitute. And it was awesome cos the sub was Mr. Kuhn. He was my maths and science teacher last year and he is easily the coolest and best teacher ever. So he let us mess around all class. And in the Chemistry class the teacher lost control. So our two classes were messing around the whole time...it was good fun.

I had my IT course today. Caught up with some more friends. And also did lots and lots of work. It was all importing/exporting files and documents between MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access. It was kinda boring and confusing but Stan took us through it step by step so we figured everything out.

The information night for the GAP year with the defence forces is still postponed and they haven't settled on a date yet. I'm looking forward to the IT Taster program and the Games Expo. The Taster program is a day where we go to the uni and learn what its like working in an IT environment. The Games expo is all about gaming. It has designing, developing, animation...everything. It actually goes over two days. The second day is on a weekend so I'm gonna ask for the day off work so I can go to it...that day is also when they have the game competitions.

I can't wait for tomorrow. We've got futsal again and we're playing against a friends team. They beat us last time. This time we're gonna win though. Even if we don't win though we'll have a fun time...we always do.

Well I stopped writing the story I was writing. I've started on something else though...I will probably post it here sometime. I haven't done much yet and its setting is totally different from the other story.

Not this sunday but the sunday after, me and a bunch of friends are planning to go to the movies. I think there's gonna be about ten of us. We're all gonna go see X-men Origins: Wolverine. It looks like its gonna be a really good movie. So that should be a really fun day.

I've started playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion again. Its a good game...though in a lot of ways Morrowind was better. I've also finished playing The Force Unleashed. In Oblivion i'm mainly trying to get the achievements for my gamerscore. I've also go t the game for PC which is better because of all the Mods. Once I'm done with Oblivion i'm thinking of Playing Splinter Cell Double Agent. I'm a massive fan of the Splinter Cell games. I've played both version of Double Agent and I honestly think the PS2 version of its better than the 360 version.

I've also been thinking of what to do after i'm done with school. I've still got a few years until I really need to make up my mind but it can't hurt thinking about it now. This is what i'm thinking about:

  • Writing. Not for a newspaper or journalism. Novels and stories.
  • Maybe something in IT. Afterall i am doing the IT course...and it s pretty fun
  • Or Hospitality. Back of House though...so I get to cook....and don't have to deal with customers.
  • Maybe Military. Navy or Army...I'd rather stay on the ground then be in the air.
  • A small chance for science. Only chemistry or biology though...i really hate physics. I've heard psychology is good...I might look into that. I know some people who do it so i'll ask them about it.

So yeah...narrowed it down to about 6 options...and none of them really have anything to do with each other at all.

Besides all that I've been relaxing at home, hanging out with friends, listening to music, been on MSN...not too much else.

Thanks for reading and I'll cya 'round

Half the holidays gone...

Well I'm halfway through the school holidays and i'm actually looking forward to going back to school. These holidays have been pretty boring...i've worked a few shifts...and thats about it. A lot of my friends agree that these holidays have been pretty crappy. The best thing I've done would've been go to the movies today. I went to see Knowing with Harley and Delaney. It was a good movie...it was different though. The most annoying thing though was we invited about four other people to come with us but they were all busy. Seriously, what are the chances of today being the one day people are actually doing stuff over the holidays. Anyways, after the movie, the three of us just hung out down the street for a little while.

Tomorrow I gotta go to the hairdressers and get my haircut...not sure what to have done...i'm kinda sick of the hair style I got now. And on Thursday Harley, Delaney, Me and a few other people are gonna go go-karting...always good fun.

Since my last blog i finished GTA4 again...and The Lost and the Damned which was absolutely awesome. I loved it. I prefer it over normal GTA4 any day. Playing as Johnny and being part of the Lost biker gang was really fun. I was dissapointed in how short it was though...I still really enjoyed it though. And the races and gang wars are so much fun. I think the next GTA game has to involve more biker gangs...Next game i'll play will probably be....The Force Unleashed.

I'm still doing a bit of writing...I've typed up about 3/4 of what I had written by hand...I probably shoulda typed it all up by now but I just can't be stuffed.

Oh yeah...Easter...Firstly Happy Easter to everyone...I know its a bit late but whatever. Easter was pretty good. I had work from 10am till about 3:30 in the afternoon. When I got home all my family was still at my place and so were a few family friends. So I sat around and talked to them for a while. They had a roast for lunch but I missed out on it...it sucked...but there were lots of leftovers so I still got some food. Just before lunch we usually have an Easter Egg hunt...but I missed out on it cos I was working...so my mum was nice and hid Easter Eggs in my room. She hid 20 of them and I couldn't find them all...so I got the whole family to help and we eventually found them...probably a sign to clean up my room...

So yeah thats about it...

Thanks for reading and I'll cya 'round

Start of the School Holidays!

Term 1 of school has finished and now i'm on holidays. The year seems to be going really quickly. I had tons of assignments and homework last term but now i get to have a break. I don't really have any plans for the holidays...probably just catching up with some friends, working a couple of shifts. My brother and sisters have gone away for the first week of the holidays with my grandparents so its gonna be really quiet. I was meant to be working today but I can't now cos something got in my eye and now its kinda infected and yuck...it kinda hurts...mainly feels strange though. So i got some eye drops this morning to try and help fix it up.

On Friday I had two games of futsal. The first one was under 16's...we lost 4-7. But its all good because last time we played that team we lost 4-10 so we're getting better. The second game was for the social team and we won! We played against the top team and we beat them 4-0. What makes it even funnier is one of my teachers from school plays on that team. So that was awesome.

And now for some news that i'm really excited about...Matthew Reilly (he's an author if you didn't know) has announced when his next book is coming out! Only problem is that its coming out in October...

Games I've been playing...mainly Call of Duty 4...i'm trying to get some achievements...next game i'll play...I'm thinking the Force Unleashed. And i still need to download The Pitt for Fallout 3...it looks good

The information night I was going to go to with Harley and Kirsten about the GAP year with the defence forces has been postponed...don't know when they're gonna have it now. I also signed up to go to two different things sometime in May. One is an IT Taster Program. I leave school for the day and go and do some work related to IT to see what its like. And I also signed up for the Get Into Games Expo. It has stuff about game developing, designing and all that sort of stuff. And they've even got some game tournaments so i'm gonna be practising for them...lets hope they've got some decent games.

I've still been writing the same story. I just haven't updated it here on Gamespot cos I just can't be bothered typing up like ten pages of text.

So hopefully i'll find something fun to do over the holidays...

Thanks for reading and i'll cya 'round.

While I'm doing a blog I may as well tell everyone what I've been doing. Well after Alex's awesome birthday party on Saturday and Sunday I managed to catch up on my sleep. Straight after I wrote my last blog I fell asleep and was asleep for the next 17 hours....it was great. This friday we have a bye for our Intermediate Futsal game but me and Harley still get to play the social game. After that there is a chance that me, Harley, Alex, Kirsten, Nicola and Jacki will be going back to Harley's and staying there that night. And even better I get to work on Sunday so that means I get some money!

Next Monday Me, Harley and Kirsten have to go to this information night. It's for doinga GAP year with the Army, Navy or Airforce after we're done school. It'd be only for a year and its meant to be a really great experience. ANd I think that it is one and a half weeks until Term 1 of school is over.Dunno whats gonna happen over the holidays. Hopefully a bit of work so I get money.

Thats about all.
