Converting from analog to digital (digital is a HDMI requirement, not an option) is MORE EXPENSIVE than taking the signal directly from the GPU and encode it for HDMI. What do you think MS does? Take the cheaper, technical more sensible route or go the more expensive, technically inferior route? From a cost-factor your comment doesn't make any sense. You only aim to bash the 360 at every chance you get.

[QUOTE="FUBAR24"]thats not true at all. With an HDMi 360 and a 1080P TV there is a huge difference than using componets seeing as most TVs do not allow you to get a 1080P signal through compnents.teebeenz
There is like 3 things which use 1080 on a 360, and since it doesn't use a pure digital image the need for a pure digital medium to transmit is non-existent.

You should know by now that what you say about 360 & HDMI is utter BS. HDMI can only transmit *digital* signals. In order for the 360 to somehow convert it's analog signal into a digital one so it can run over HDMI would be MUCH more expensive than simply routing the output of the GPU to the HDMI-port. You would also note slight instabilities which you clearly have not. Perhaps you haven't ever seen a 360 with an HDMI port and the picture it produces? Please stop spreading misinformation.

Guys, please read a physics book. The DVD inside the 360 spinning with 28000 (inner ring) and 10080 (outer ring) revolutions per minute (12x DVD = 56x CD). That's 168-466 revolutions PER SECOND. Objects rotating that fast around their center-axis achieve a certain stability. When you now try to tilt the 360, the DVD wants to stay in it's original position (the fast rotating mass is too 'lazy' to move) and thus the edges of the DVD will either touch the try around it or the housing of the laser-diode. Your DVD didn't get burnt or anything, it simply got scratched because it touched something while rotating that fast. Depending on how deep the scratch is, you can try a DVD-repair kit, or try sending the DVD to Ubisoft for a replacement (I think it's $20 to get a replacement).

Component is analog. HDMI is digital. The cable quality doesn't matter at all. Gold connectors are BAD because when two different metals touch, they corrode each other. It's chemistry 101. Take the cheapest cables, because chances are you TV/Receiver has also the cheapest connectors and thus you avoid corrosion.

Get real guys. EVERY single release has to be rated by the countries rating-board before it can be released. They would actually need to submit these very crappy games to each and every rating board (which costs money) just to be able to give them away for free then. Since the games are sooooo incredibly bad, they simply want to avoid paying that much money for something that doesn't benefit anybody. It's not malice, it's simply economics. Grow the **** up.
