That's not a very good comparison or argument. COD and Battlefield do have their similarities, as well as differences, but those are two game series out of a LOT of military shooters, and even more FPS. Tekken and DOA. Once again, they have similarities as well as differences, and once again, there are plenty of other fighters out there that have a consistent theme.

However, Smash Brothers was rather unique. Before PS Battle Royale, no game comes to mind that is similar to SB. SB is a mash up of playable characters, mainly consisting of characters from games created by Nintendo or exclusive to Nintendo. There's 4 player fights with each character and stage featuring the uniqueness of it's particular IP.

I can't think of any other game like Smash Brothers. It's not JUST a typical fighter. I'm not saying Battle Royale will be a bad game. In fact, it could be very good. But you simply CAN'T deny that it's not a blatant rip-off of Smash Brothers.

And this is coming from a guy that doesn't like Nintendo (or Smash Brothers) a whole lot. lol

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Normally I'm PERFECTLY fine hearing opinions that differ from mine, but this game is NOT "up there with titles like Uncharted."

You're right, it's not Capcom's problem, and technically, they HAVE sold 4.5m copies. I just wish companies would stop using sale numbers trying to brag about selling a product to retailers and other companies under the guise that they have all actually been purchased from consumers.

@CaesarIIII @GT3600

I wasn't mocking GT3600, the game, or it's review, so your "double LOL" is... I don't know. Unwarranted?

I just think it's kinda funny when a company (ANY company) says something like "THREE BILLION (insert product here) SOLD!" as a form of bragging.

Sure, the company sold their game to retailers, but how many copies are in customers homes, versus sitting in a store or warehouse?

@Villimax

Thank-you for your opinion, but that doesn't change my opinion, or more importantly, the review.

A lot of people are overreacting here in the comments. Sure, this PARTICULAR Gamespot review (score) may be a little harsh in your eyes, or harsh in comparison of how GS has handled other games, but I agree with the review.

Keep in mind that it DOESN'T MATTER what a 4.5 is to YOU. YOU might associate a 4.5 rating with pathetic garbage that shouldn't be touched by mankind, but a 4.5 is a POOR game. Only 0.5 points away from a Mediocre game. And I agree.

This game did not live up to it's expectations.

IT IS A POOR GAME.
