lol I like the part of the trailer where Marcus carrys the locust to cover him.ganon546
So do I. It's a bit welcoming, to be honest. :)

GTA4 was higher when it and OOT had the same amount of reviews. That's all that matters.bstickq1
This man said it.
[QUOTE="Fusible"][QUOTE="thrones"][QUOTE="Eddie-Vedder"]I think it looks fun as hell, but it does NOT look better then KZ2 or Uncharted, I expected I bigger jump. It'll prolly still be a AAA game though, just lemmings around here made it sound like it would destroy everything grafically.Adrian_Cloud
It definitely looks better than Uncharted, at least imo.
GOW has better texture detail, Uncharted is a great game but not better looking.Wrong on both accounts.. Uncharted just completly outclasses Gears especially in textures.
No, it doesn't.
I was impressed with the gameplay footage of gears 2, not graphically but everything eles was unbelivable. The number of enmies on screen in real time, chainsaw battles etc. People are forgetting that it was just 3 minutes of gameplay. When the atcual game comes out, it will be the best looking game of 2008.
Interframe
It appears that it will.
[QUOTE="Fondness"][QUOTE="Amit_Raj"][QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="Amit_Raj"]the only thing thats a bit of a let down was that the number of enemies on screen shown in the trailer seemed a gimmick coz u couldnt really shoot at em ...
other then that this whole vdo had WIN written all over it !!!!!! and i dont mean just graphically...

It would be a letdown if the new locust swarms were only meant to be used to add a chatoic atmosphere (eg. They only run across the screen in the background)...I could live, and still enjoy the hell out of Gears 2, but still.
but thats exactly why they r added .... well atleast it felt so coz when u moved the cross air over em it did not change to red...anyways we cant know for sure yet
Would you like to stand up to all of them? In all likelihood, they would have butchered you.
In that particular setting were theres only 2 more cogs then yea... but we don't know how much backup you will have on other missions.
It would be delightful if we were capable of standing up to a great deal of foes. However, it would be too troublesome.
[QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="Nonstop-Madness"]I like the idea of using a locust as a shield. I'm looking forward to seeing how big the battles can get. Going from cover to cover, using a locust as a shield, shooting at loads of enemies? Wonderful. They showed off alot of mew game mechanics like the chainsaw battle, using locust as a shield, huge battles
Nonstop-Madness
I think the locust shield and chainsaw battles really gives a new feeling in the storyline of the humans doing everything to fight back.
Yes, they do.

[QUOTE="Fondness"][QUOTE="PAL360"][QUOTE="JediRiff"][QUOTE="haze_blaze"][QUOTE="astiop"]Let me get this straight.
First Gears 1 comes out, fanboys are like "yeye, the 360 is maxed out, gears only looks that good because theres only 6 enemies on screen yadda yadda", and now in the new footage we see an improvement in graphics (and it looks like it's gonna run way smoother than the first), 10 times the amount of **** going on than what was happening in GeoW 1, and they call it an "expantion pack" and say "it looks the same"?
This sorta crap would only be acceptable if we still only saw 3-6 locust at a time. Considering the amount of enemies on screen, this has surpassed my expectations. If it only had the visual upgrades while still having a minimal ammount of enemies on screen, then no.
PAL360
But there was never a lot of enemies on screen or no more action than usual onscreen in that vid :?. I mean, I think the game will be good & the action they did show was good. But graphically, it really doesn't look much different than the first... I think that's what ppl are getting at. The first Gears was beyond anything we'd seen before; the second one, not so much.
Never alot of enemies on screen? Man, you missed ALOT.
maybe you cant kill all that enemies but they are there made with poligons! thats not a miracle, thats better graphics lol
Well, do you know what would have happened if 20 foes assailed you?
they are part of the graphics and background. like in call of dutty series, it makes you feel in a real war
That's correct.

Gears 2 in-game looks like the cutscenes from Gears 1. Hugely impressive. I can't believe how crisp and clear it all is. It's definitely a bigger graphical upgrade than I had anticipated considering the sequel's out only 2 years later, and I've been playing the PC version of Gears lately, too. The lighting model in Gears 2 really is amazing, and the texture work is phenomenal as usual.

The more I look at that second .gif the more I'm getting annoyed. It looks brilliant and all what with the flipping of the chainsaw but...
He stabs him through the chest, and the arm falls off.
...?
I hope they fix that by the release...
Haha, yeah, I saw that. Looks funny. It's a new animation and they're probably still tweaking those, and even then, it's nothing worrisome.
I'm just glad there are still 6 months to go before release and the game already looks really good, and even more importantly, very smooth. They somehow managed to upgrade the visuals, the scale, and the framerate from the original Gears, with 6 more months of tweaking to go. That's some good work by Epic.
It still looks likeable! :)
