i played gears one and it was good but it was like the shoot em' up blockbuster movie... there were alot of cool explosions and it was fun but in the end it kinda felt hollow to me. i really thought it was no more then a 9.0. the story was really week and it didnt even pretend to end as anything else but a means to set up a sequal. many may feel diffrent but i feel that many modern games seem to be rewarded with high scores for being rather generic cookie cutter sequal set ups. (this doesnt just apply to GoW btw)
and as far as the graphics arguement all im going to say is it is alot easier to create dark gritty enviroments rather then more colorful one's

The story, as you say, is pretty poor. Nevertheless, it provides you with enjoyment.
[QUOTE="lowe0"]I don't understand how Sony fans use the argument, "It looks good, but it's just Gears 1, only more so." Gears 1 was awesome. Why does the fact that we already got one kickass game in any way detract from the fact that we're getting an even more kickass game? It's not Epic's fault that Sony couldn't deliver something like Gears; why should the fact that Epic already made something awesome be a negative against their latest creation?
The fact that our good games haven't all been delayed from launch into 2007... oh, wait, 2008... oh, wait, 2009... doesn't make new 360 games any less awesome.

no one is sayign that gears of war 2 wont be an amazing game ... we're just saying that it wont match the graphics of KZ2.
Moreover, it's comprehensible, isn't it? I mean, Gears of War 2 will be released two years after the first one. Killzone 2 was proclaimed one year before Gears of War was released. Get it? For that reason, you shouldn't be astounded if Killzone 2's graphics are or will be of higher quality.
The gameplay looks like it will be more interesting and more intense than Gears 1. By showing this, maybe they indicate that the enviorments and combat styles will be much more varied.
The only thing I didn't like was the chainsaw duel. Not interesting at all if you're just going to mash one button, so I hope that is changed into something more dynamic.

Well, technically, all you had to do to chainsaw someone in the first Gears was hit a button once. At the end of the day, it was entertaining because it was so visceral and brutal onscreen. I think that'll be the case here. Multiplayer might be a little different though, as was mentioned before, the host advantage really needs to be fixed this time around.
I just want them to make it more barbaric this time.
