Thats also true, if problems persist I will do a physical examination of the computer. Maybe its something I overlooked.

Thank you for your help I am sure it will help. I will also note the other thing you said, thats a possibility. It also could be some other unimaginable problem. A new powersupply will most likely help if the problem persists. Once again thank you.

Yeah that diagram got a little messed up when i hit post anyway. Yes exactly. I am using an OCZ 700 WATT and new SLI'd 8800 GT's. I hope their not faulty, but I dont think thats the case do to the waythe crash happenshappens. Its exactly what you would see if your card was overheating. Its not though, it happened with the case open, a fan blowing inside the case, and with the fans tuned to 100% using rivatuner.

My computer has been crashing (made 2 posts about this earlier). Its like the power cord has been pulled. Ihave had the power to the card coming through other things.More specificaly a bunch of 4 pin molex connectors connected togetherto a6 pin adapter then to the card. Like this:

: : : : :____________
: : : : :____________ CARD

Key

: 4 pin molex ____________ 6 pin Adapter

: ____________

I know I amartistic, actually pretty poor diagram.

AnywayI found two connectors stowed in the back marked PCI-E1 and PCI-E2. So what did I decide to do? Use those instead of my retarded previous setup. It hasn't crashed yet, but might this help. If I dont fix this I will go mad.

Thanks in advance.

Its quite tempting to switch to intel, with their fast processors. I will always stick with AMD though, their proccesors are QUALITY HARDWARE. They have never failed me. Their processors are fast enough to handle what the gaming industry throws at us. I have a 2 year old AMD proccessor and it still lets me play crysis on Very High settings. Plus the gaming industry is more GPU intensive, as long as you dont have a REALLY WEAK proccesor your fine. Personaly I have a AMD X2 64 4800 2.4 GHz @ 2.5 GHz. Once I learn more about OC'ing I will get it higher. Haven't even increased the voltage. Anyway LONG LIVE AMD. TheHARDWARE SUPERPOWERWILL RETURN! This is madness you say? THIS IS AMMMMDDDDDD!!!

Its based off the preference of the creators. Like the previous guy said, who do you want to play asthe master chief or a weak little lady. The fact is girls are girly (how ironic). You dont want to play as a charater who is girly.

If it's not overheating then there aren't very many other reasons for it to power off. 1) You did a clean install of the video drivers, correct? 2) Make sure you have the Windows BSOD enabled (Start -> Control Panel -> System ->"Advanced" tab -> "Startup and Recovery" settings button -> uncheck automatically restart). If you get a BSOD make note of the error number and message. Also check error logs (Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer). 3) Another reason for the power off could be because of lack of power. When does it crash--during intense gaming, or while sitting on your desktop?PVCSnathan

Thank You for your help,

A few things to note:

1) I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers many times. I have also tried different drivers.

2) I'm thinking its power related. First of all I upgraded to an sli setup recently. Installed two 8800 gt's. I have had it so the power connected to the cards comes off of other things first. In other words it doesn't come directly from the power supply, but through many 4 pin connecters connected together and finaly to a 6 pin adapter and to the video card. I recently found two 6 pin connecters stowed away deep in my case ironicaly marked PCIE-1 and PCIE-2(they come directly from the power supply). I connected those to the cards rather then the previous setup. I am wondering whether this will fix it?

3) Could it be a faulty card? Keep in mind the time in which it shutsdown varies, usually takes a while (almost as if overheating)

4) Finaly chance its a faulty powersupply, or failing power supply. I have only had it for about a year and a half too two years.

Thanks again, any help is appreciated.
