@shantd @blue_shift_91 exactly. its the same thing that happened to the psp, which had much more features than the ds (mostly non-gaming features) and still couldnt outsell it (even though it turned out to be a huge success and became the only handheld ever to face nintendo on equal ground).
Non-gaming features are not the key to success in this ever growing industry. its all about creativity and approach.
@blue_shift_91 could you please explain what this "innovative potential" is all about? we've been hearing this since before the not-so-honest petition to re-reverse the xbox policies, but nobody even explains what it means. admit it, until you have something useful to demonstrate, you and all the others who talk about this so called "innovation" or "future of gaming" (microsoft included of course) should just keep quiet or at least take it a little easier, because ,as far as i'm concerned, unwanted policies, limited access, 24hour check-in and horrible, awful, disgusting marketing and PR techniques ARE NOT THE FUTURE OF GAMING.
@udubdawgz @G-Corleone well, i must say, even though i want nothing to do with that xbox one, now i understand your point. your thoughts on the asian market are also accurate, cuz if we think of it, with asia, ps3 should've "destroyed" the x360, but that never happened.
In the end, sony won in terms of console sales, but, judging from your point of view, they completely lost in terms of market share and, true, "success".
I have to admit that i started this conversation thinking it would end up being a fanboy-esque discussion or something like that, cuz you know how it is these days, ppl just freak out for nothing. but in the end, i have to admit that you're right. I love sony and playstation, but it's true; in terms of success, i can see that u are spot on: the xbox 360 gained true success.
Sign it, and lets all just play the waiting game until MS decides to pull the plug off this ad-box. They dug their own grave, filled it with improvised dirt, and now people are actually hoping that they dig it back up again...either this is sony's secret idea of a Fatality or people are just plain stupid......maybe, juuuust maybe, it's the latter.
@udubdawgz @G-Corleone @wdma then what is success?..im not judging your argument, seriously, however i thought that gamespot and gamers judged the success of a console based on pure sales...i dont measure it that way. For me, success is based on the impact the console has on the industry.
@radcrab123 i wasnt gonna buy it either, but i still dont understand the advertising stuff. Will the xbox really be "ad-based" like they said a few days ago? Cuz that would really suck, even for xbox fanboys.
