I am in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Beta program!

I had signed for a very limited access to a beta program via a magazine. I mean what r the chances of me winning the beta of one of the most diverse, unique games of 07 against millions of users, NONE!!! But today I recieved an email from PCZine and was invited!! Hurrah!!.

Well thats not the only beta i am in for it. Yeah thats right u've guessed it right, HALO 3. As soon the midnight cluck struck, I played HALO 2 from Feb 2 for like 3 hrs continous that day, and each consecutive days I played on avg 2 hrs until today which would end the program from Microsoft. The program is, whoever plays atleast 4 hrs of HALO 2 from February 2nd to 9th, will have a chance to play the HALO 3 multiplayer beta, AND.......its first come basis. So hopefully, I am in it.

Covert mission: Operation Role DA DICE baby

Today some the guys and I planned to skip college a bit earlier and try to gain access to D.I.C.E which took place in the glorious Vegas. There were 5 of us, we took one of my friend's classic Dodge charger which i was lucky enough to drive (I luv driving), hit the metal tunes (Scars of Life) and was well on our way to DICE heaven. As soon was we came to the area, we kinda expected a less traffic than what we saw, but doesn't matter, I parked the car a few blocks away so no one could get any suspicion upon us. We saw 2 gates, each seperated by a distance of about 25-30 metres. There were about 3 security guards in each gate. The guards were letting attendees wearing proper ID cards, so how do we break the security? Funny, we didn't had a plan when we came, so tried to think of a away to get in. We planned to creat a diversion to pull atleast 2 of the guards away and sneak past one (hey if u play splinter cell and metal gear, its in the genes baby). 2 of my friends came up with several question to both the guards, it was the rest of us 3 to move in. Just for a safe measure, we put on a fake library badge so it looks we have the IDs at a distance. The plan worked and we went in but apparently there was another checkpoint...damn. They kinda caught us and we were hastily taken out of the vicinity.

At the end of the day, we may not have been successful, but hey, we got to experience covert lifesystle, which we enjoyed it all the way...............other than being kicked.:(

Long time back I told you guys that something differentiates AC Milan from the rest of the clubs in Europe...well....thsi guy- Paolo Maldini, is regarded by everyone the BEST DEFENDER ever in this world. He is called, El Captiano, the captain. His father Cesare Maldini also played for AC Milan, then his son, and soon....Paolo's son, Christian Maldini. He recieved many offerings from other European clubs, but never went...because AC Milan is in his blood. And not surprisingly, all the clubs in the world appreiciate and admire him, because of his skills, calm personality, ability to read situations, excellent reactions and tackles. He will become 39 this year (footballers retire on avg at the age of 35), but he gives no signs of putting away his boots on his closet just yet, until he makes a world record by completing atleast 1000 appearance for a club. Above is a video of some of his highlights, hope u guys like it.

Thanx

Italian football is on hold....due to Sicillian difficulties

On the extreme south of italy, on the tip of the foot of the country, a derby match between Palermo and Catania ended 2-1. The Catania fans were unhappy of the results and rioted outside and which, sadly resulted an italian officer named Filippo Raciti being killed by a bomb. My heart goes to the officers' family who are undertandingly going through difficult times becuase of the unnecessary loss.

Just when the Caliciopoli scandal ended and gave italian football a breather, another and more serious scandal is born. I must say that, despite having an italian heritage and loving football more than my own life......this is the bad thing about football. In italy....they take derby matches to a more personal level than one should, especially people from the more infamouse south..the Sicillians. I want to say that football is all about passion, especially derby matches...but the ones the Catania fans showed is not passion....its madness. The game is over, u may lost, end of things. What good can a riot do to make things any better. And because of this unnecessary violence, an innocent life is lost.

FIGC (Italian's football's governing body) is taking strict action and may result the entire season of football to be play in closed doors- meaning all the clubs will be loosing a lot of money just because of of another's doing. AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti issued that the goverment should announce zero tolerance policy and he sees its the only way to "save" the italian football culture from falling to the wrong hands.

I hope things clear out as soon as possible and the wrong people are dealth with.

My name is PS3.....I am all about RAW POWER

While the PS3 bashing was a popular topic for gamers in 06. As we r on the early 07, we can see why PS3 has such a massive jet engine under its hoods. Lets be honest, 360's graphics and PS3's graphics card are more or less the same, but, what is different for the PS3 is the CELL BROADBAND engine, if used to its full efficiency, can mean a daylight of difference between the 360 and PS3. Also I am really surprised why people actually did'nt notice the fact that the games which were released on the 360 for the end of 06 (other than Gears of course) were or less same as the PS3. Dude.... we r talking big time here, we r saying a 3rd wave 360 game is looking more or less the same as a 1st wave ps3 game, got my point. So only time will tell what ps3 is capable off, just see how psp evolved is a perfect xample. To see my point, see Motorstorm and Heavenly sword, which are the 2nd wave ps3 games are r already lookin amazing dude. Also lets not forget one of the biggest reasons why i like sony better than M$ is, commitment to the console. For Xbox, M$ just forgot about it half way to the console's life and now the PS2 is still going strong. The PSP from Sony while is not upto the standard set by DS, but sony is ont backing down my any means. Also...the most controversial blue-ray format, which people say is unecessary and would fail..........well think again dudes, recent stats shows PS3 Blue-ray watchers r more than the total of 360 HD-DVD and standalone HD-DVD combined. Also the PS3 having 75% of the studios backing them. Also PS3 is High-Def play out of the box, 360 requires purchasing it for 200$ with no game requirement is a big minus.

So what I am saying is, every console is good, all 3 of them. Wii is good for the casuals, 360 is good because its innovative online and also imrpoing first party title database, PS3 is good because of its strong first party titles and having advantage of RAW power on the coming years.

Things I bought this January

Since there weren't many games to buy, I bought some things to enhance my gaming experience:

1: Xbox 360 wireless headset (2)

2: A Xbox 360 controller (now i have 3)

3: Smackdown vs Raw 07 (Since I dont have a party game, this was the best there is, which is also why I had to buy another controller)

So what is TIME?

One of my favourite games is Prince of Persia from back in the DOS days of gaming. Since the series returned in full force bu UBI with the introduction of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the game was really special. It had terrific fighting and platforming mechanics and of course, great music and art to complement. The "Sands of Time" trilogy revolved around 1 very important, but yet, hardly noticeable part of our daily lives.........TIME. After playing the entire trilogy, I got a new look into TIME than just clockwork.

I wrote a short, well u know literature on it, i know its bad, but well here goes:-

Time is like a ship..... sailing in a direction... on a river flowing continuously in its natural course with no interference…....no. Time is like a stormy ocean, it’s important to grab hold of the ship; you never know when TIME will send you of course. No Good things will ever come when you are embodied with rage, anger and hatred. You will always be deceived by your anger when the TIME comes. If you hurt people today, TIME will hurt you tomorrow. People may forget everything you did, but sands of the TIME will remember it with it’s every golden grain. Words blotted with ink on paper cannot describe events..... as the SANDS of TIME.

Singleplayer, then Multiplayer, now..........Crossplayer?

In the begining of gaming, 1st came singleplayer "\", then came multiplayer "/", soon will come Crossplayer!

Ladies and Gentleman, may I introduce world's first crossplayer video game, The Crossing from the makers of Half-Life 2.

The Crossing is the first game from the abitious developers of Half-Life 2, Vale studious and Arkane studios to deliver the biggest innovative gaming in recent history since gaming has begun. By completely creating a new genre other than singleplayer and multiplayer.

So what is The crossing? Well its an FPS, but similarities ends there. "In Paris where NPCs can be players can be NPCs". While details are vague at this point. Here is an example, Mr. X can be a member of an Assassin's group and Mr.Y having problems with Mr.Z. Mr. Y goes to Mr.X, gives him some game money, to assinate Mr. Z. Just like that one can be swat teams, workers in offices, doctors and even some supernatural beings.

Its just one of the reasons why PC is the innovator in the industry. You heard about The crossing xclusively on vincenzo's blog, not gamespot hehe.

BTW: Here is an awesome short trailer of the game:

Returning to Vegas with a NEW FACE

+
Today I connnected the Xbox Live! camera which my sweet girlfriend Erica gave me for X-mas. The first thing after configuring the camera I did is to do a Video conferencing with her, which was very smooth to say the least. Then I launched Rainbow Six Vegas and created my own character with my face. The results were very very good even it being the first of its kind for a console, only the hair part was a bit unrealistic but that doesn't matter alot (it matters to me in real life :) )

I played some online multiplayer matches and it was tactical, real and therefore awesome.

Next week will see major changes in our houehold network. For starters we r dumping AT&T cable for US's Residential fastest broad, Verizon FIOS fiber optic broadband with insane speeds. Then I setup a wireless network with D-Link Router 802.101n. Notice its N, its a much more better version than the g version which is used everywhere including by PS3 and 360. The N revision provides up to 3 times the range and 5 times the data transfers for fluid multiple HD streams. Though its Pre-n, as the n specifications will be finalised this year. As soon as it is finalised, I just upgrade my firmware to get a full fledged 802.101n network.

Then I will setup my PC to stream XP content to 360 via wireless as usual. In otherwords, I will be throwing a hell of cable next week, so cable recycle guys....get ready.

My picks of CES 07

On 11th of January I went to the CES 07 which took place here at Vegas. Although I also wished I could go to the Macworld (which showcased apple products), but u cant be at 2 places at once.

Here are the things which interested me in this year's CES07:

Ford Sync:

Microsoft Sync--a partnership between Ford and Microsoft--pulled ahead of the People's Voice pack. A factory-installed tech panacea, Sync will ship on 12 of Ford's 2008 cars and on the entire 2009 fleet. The flash-based system lets drivers call hands-free (12 phones work with the always-on Bluetooth connection) and control MP3 players via voice commands and buttons mounted on the steering wheel.

Verizon Wireless V Cast Mobile TV:

Verizon Wireless joins with MediaFlo to create a truly innovative and watchable TV-on-phone experience. V Cast Mobile TV offers full-length, live television programming on selected handsets via a dedicated UHF signal. There's little of the pixelated, choppy effects of 3G video streaming, and audio/video syncing and channel switching are zippy.

Powercasr:

We always though once in a while, when will the day come when you just dont have to be bothered with charging batteries, well, that day has nearly come. Powercast could forever change the way we interact with our handheld gadgets. Powercast uses the energy from a transmitted RF signal to power small, battery-operated devices--cell phones, wireless PC peripherals, and hearing aids may never go dead again. The transmitter can be placed in anything that plugs into the wall (lamps, alarm clocks, and so on) and can send a low, continuous signal to small gadgets that contain an embedded receiver. Charging batteries may never be necessary again.

Alienware Area 51 m9750:

Two high-end GPUs, two processing cores, two enormous hard drives, and one big, beautiful, 17-inch display. Alienware might just have best gaming laptop we've ever encountered, and that's before you get to its integrated TV tuner and Blu-ray drive. This Vista-based mobile gaming monster is the first to serve up two GeForce Go 7950 cards, which, along with an overclocked Core 2 Duo processor, should allow it to post some ridiculously fast frame rates. The kicker? Alienware sounded sincere when it told us that it is attempting to bring a dual-GPU baseline model to market at less than $2,000. The price is just cheap, compared to 4000$+ ealier.

As for football, AC Milan won 3-1 against Reggina, a wonderful freekick from Andrea Pirlo. a good 1-2 of Janko and Seedorf produced  the 2nd. They got back 1 with a very good strike from a Reggina player. But on the 78th min, Gilardino nailed the match with a goal.
