Yeah, they took the best features of the previous Battlefields and put them together in Battlefield 3. On top of state of the art animation and graphics and sound technology of course. Thats exactly what anyone ever wanted. Nobody wants your so called grand "innovation" aka "consolization" in battlefield. There were tons of things changed from BF2 to BF3. Countless things. Game is nothing alike outside of its player count and large maps.

Vietnam: Introduction of class modifications.

Battlefield 2: Experience system. Squads.

2142: The only good thing was that it was in the future so it experimented with different stuff, but then again all the previous ones had this because all of them were in different time periods and had different tech that was noticeable most of the time. Help here for specific stuff that actually made a difference.

Bad Company: Destruction. The new modes (non conquest) are from this one?

Bad Company 2: The same thing but better tech.

Battlefield 3: Basically a mix of stuff that had already been done in different ones but with better tech.

CoD: Fast paced, you are part of something big, not a lone wolf-Rambo-badass feel. Pimp of MoH:AA.

CoD 2: Introduced health regen.

CoD 3: Forgettable. It had those melee fight event thingies?

CoD 4: Introduced the experience system to this franchise. Perks. Bullet engine. Streaks.

WaW: CoD4 but in WW2 time. Help here for specific stuff that actually made a difference.

MW2: Help here for specific stuff that actually made a difference. For me it's CoD4 all over again.

BLOPS: Help here for specific stuff that actually made a difference. For me it's CoD 4 all over again but in different time frame.

For me both franchises have droppped the ball with their recent titles.
