Although to save on space I say he should pick up this monitor instead. Saves him about $400 and 7.5 feet of space. And in return he gets a 30" 2560x1600 monitor that will most certainly make full use of his system if he wants to use the extra $400 plus the $300 he still has laying around to buy a second 5970.

...

Wait a sec, I'm also building a $4000 rig. **** I just tempted myself...

Let's turn this into a "if you had several thousand dollars laying around, would you buy one $1160 monitor or three $500 monitors?" thread.

gameguy6700

Or he could remove one monitor and still get another 5970, xP

If I was really gonna spend a lot of time computer gaming, or whatever, and had my own house, I'd probably get the three monitors and dedicate a room in the house to just that, lol.

I mean, even if I did stop computer gaming, there's still three 1080p 40" televisions that I could either put in other rooms or sell. xD

You know, I think we're thinking two small. Why the hell should the monitors only take up his field of vision? I say that instead he should buy enough monitors to surround his whole body such that he has a complete 360 degree FOV. No more having to constantly spin around in FPS games, this guy can just literally look over his shoulder IRL to see if anyone is behind him or to his side.

LOL, good thinking. Kinda like in Gamer? Hah. :P

PSU & Case

GPU

Mobo & CPU

Mouse & Keyboard

SSD & OS

HDDx2

CD/DVD Writer/Reader

Flash Reader

BR Drive

RAM

Case Fanx2

CPU Fan

Monitor x3 (I like this part the best. XDDD)

lol, three 40" HDTVs. He won't even be able to see half his FOV

I figured that since the total was still less than 4300, why not? ahaha

Well, I decided to sign up and give it a shot. They approved me for $8,000, which is madness. It was crazy that they were able to email me that amount literally right after clicking the sign up button... Surely a credit check was not done instantaneously...

Anyway, I must say I'm not thrilled to have to have a card to carry around, but I suppose it won't be that big of a deal since it's only for NewEgg. Maybe I'll just let it hang out in my room near the PC. Not sure why it bothers me so much... But oh well.

This one seems to be getting good reviews with customers using an i7 860 on it.

Here's some stuff I found, dropped the price quite a bit :P

Phenom II x4 945

Gigabyte Mobo

G. Skill RAM

500 GB HDD

Total is weird, says subtotal is 493.30. And the tax is 44.85. But then it says the total is still 493.30. O_o

There's these two.

Both are capable of crossfiring and didn't seem too expensive :P

[QUOTE="Marfoo"]You have to apply for it, you might not get it depending on your credit and income. My dad has a Newegg preferred account, he enjoys being able to pay it over 6-months same as cash. I think they discount you 1%, it ain't much, but it's something.FUBAR24

Yea, sounds good. I have no credit history what-so-ever (just turned 18 last year) and am going in to the Air Force. I wanted to build a rig when I got to my first duty station and seeing that preferred account on Newegg sounded good.

hate to burst your bubble but if you have no credit history odds are you wont get approved. hell the only reason i got approved for a best buy card is cause im an employee

Damn, lol. I hate you. Bubble burster :/
