Just a quick question on the beta client. What is "GW2.tmp" and "GW2.dat". It's just that I'm an bit OCD and I hate that it's cluttered on my desktop without any purpose if they have one. So are they needed for the beta client, or can I delete them? If they are useful, can I put them in another folder or does it have to be in the same folder that the launcher is in, because I have my launcher on the desktop. Thanks! :P

I got mines the next day, but I did it through Steam where they check your profile. Make sure it's set to Public.

Well it wasn't auto-updating for me. When I launched it from Steam, some kind of permission window would come up every time, and I would click yes, but it would do nothing and take me to the Witcher 2 launcher. So I finally just clicked on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" or something, and then it said 326 files failed to validate, and now it's downloading 14GB of something. I hope this is it though.

Okay I have Witcher 2 on Steam, however how do I update it to the Enhanced Edition? I launched it from Steam, and got into the title screen perfectly, I thought there was something that was going to notify you that you're supposed to update the game? Or has it not been released for Steam yet? Thanks!

First of all, it's not going to beat Skryim in terms of sale, so you can shove that where ever you got that from. Second, if it flops on consoles (most likely), then expect an PC release without anyone doing anything. Just look at Binary Domain, only 20k on consoles, and they had to make a PC port.

I would make a clean save before un-installing any mods.

[QUOTE="Gamerperson33"] So if I buy the physical copy of the standard edition, does the retailer send me the code right away for the beta access, and then later sends me the physical copy. I'm talking about Amazon here though. And thanks for taking your time and helping me out. :)ZimpanX

Yes you will be sent a case right away with the code inside looking something like this (depending what version you picked).

And then they will send you the rest of the package on release. :)

Not sure about Amazon though but that is how it works with my retailer so am I'm sure it works in similar fashion with others.

Thanks again for the help guys. And if I may ask, what retailer are you using?

[QUOTE="Gamerperson33"] So basically what you're saying is that the disc is basically useless then since I will have most of the game downloaded by the time the disc arrives. Or are the beta patches entirely different from the game, and they will make you download the entire game again, because then that's the only reason I'll buy the physical copy. ZimpanX

Well it's useless only if you never plan to uninstall the client or never install it on another PC in the future. If you do uninstall it however or plan the install on a another machine it will most likely go much faster to install the game again using the disc.

The retail and the beta might have seperate clients but I doubt it.

Well I only have one gaming computer, so I doubt that I'll ever install it on another computer. However, the point of re-installing the game might come in handy, for whatever reason I might have to do it. So if I buy the physical copy of the standard edition, does the retailer send me the code right away for the beta access, and then later sends me the physical copy. I'm talking about Amazon here though. And thanks for taking your time and helping me out. :)

[QUOTE="Gamerperson33"] Actually, is there even an physical edition available that's for pre-purchase? I think it's only the digital versions, which I don't want, since it will take forever to download the game. ZimpanX

Yes you can pre-purchase physical copies but you won't have that sent to you until release, during all the Beta events and such you will need to have the client downloaded. I believe you only need to download it once though and then just patch it with every update so you won't need to do much waiting when you finally get the disc. :)

So basically what you're saying is that the disc is basically useless then since I will have most of the game downloaded by the time the disc arrives. Why are you guys not having Collector's Edition at Amazon.com for U.S.? I was looking forward to pre-ordering/pre-purchasing from there. The only available places are at Gamestop.com which doesn't have in-store pickup and Bestbuy which doesn't even have the game up for pre-order yet. Just curious. Thanks! Elann2008
No idea yet, but as of now Amazon and Arena Net are still figuring stuff out. First it was said, that the pre-purchase will no longer be available at Amazon, but now they're both trying to work something out, so stay tuned on that.
