Its all about white, I think very piece of technology needs to be white to ensure that any 1970/80's sci-fi film's vision of the future is correct... though we will have to start wearing silver clothes and have 1970/80s hairstyles, dang!!
Well, if the Wii has the stigma of being 'kiddy' its likely that the kids who supposedly play this console are likely to pick up and xbox360 or playstation2/3 instead because they want to appear more grown up. Kids like to emulate their elders (especially elder peers) and if they think that they play xbox, they are likely to emulate that. Just reminds me of when i was a lil' un and there were always those who would boast about seeing something like 'Terminator 2' or 'Aliens' claiming how grown up that made them, I'm pretty sure it'll be the same nowerdays with kids boasting about their ownership of Gears of War or GTA.
How about the idea of a 'Mii arcade', as a place where you can visit and play classic arcade games or watch other Miis try and ace some high scores on the virtual arcade machines. Also if you threw currency into the mix (especially with the idea that currency is actual wii points), you could encourage up and coming developers to make new, simple yet innovative games for the arcade, that could essentially be played for pittance (a teeenie amount of wee points) and also wouldn't detract attention away from the VC too much. I feel it'd add a little competition to the game but not so much that you have elitists prancing around being rude to newbies.
