5 - Best controller ever with features that really improve your gameplay. DS4 has a ugly giant light on the back vs. a small IR LED that does the same thing. Xbox One is improving rumble making the (already spetacular) FPS and racing experience even better. And I don't know if this counts, but personally I think the DS4 design is like 5 different teams worked on different pieces and created an ugly, inconsistent piece of hardware that want to be an Xbox controller but can't abandon the DS design.
6 - I don't actually care about weigh and size of a product that will just stand near my TV
7 - It can be on for 10 years straight.
8 - You can decide either if you want batteries or AA's (what happens if you have a problem with intern batteries?)
9 - Kinect with 1:1 precision, sees in the dark, speech recognition, IR blaster to turn on devices, heart rate scaner etc. All that with one camera that allow up to 6 people to play vs. the PS Eye that require Move/Navigation controllers for each individual.
10 - Games With Gold let you keep games forever instead of renting like Instant Collection.
11 - It's not forcing DRM, region lock or online restriction. You're trying to bash the console with old arguments because you have nothing better.
12 - Xbox Live is stable, fast and reliable vs. PSN going down for a month, between many cases of poor service.
13 - Better enterteinment ecosystem
14 - MS isn't desperately trying to promote themselves upon the competition
15 - Beautiful headset with volume and mute options with LEDs vs. cheap earpiece
16 - Dedicated servers
17 - 5gb RAM for games vs PS4's 4,5gb. Plus: Xbox has a DDR3 + SRAM setup that can be faster in theory (but I don't really care about raw numbers)
To sum it up: Sony is playing really safe, releasing a PS3 with better hardware that doesn't offer nothing really new until now, nothing I can't get on my PC. There's no game that says "next-gen" on it with great features other than graphics (Killzone vs Titanfall, DriveClub vs Forza for example). They're only pulling this "We <3 indies" to sell more Vitas (the fun fact here is that it sold less than the Kinect), since there's no support for it.
Still, I see the PS4 is a great product. Not my favorite, not my choice, but a good one. I hope people just don't go like "i'm buying this one because m$ hurt my feelings" and see the consoles for what they really are at the launch. Or maybe I don't really care.
@VarHyid Voice and movement recognition for apps and games, IR blaster to turn on your devices and the possibility to turn your TV on a giant Win8 tablet with apps and stuff.
The BIG problem is the fact that Kinect 1.0 sucks, but every hands-on with Kinect 2.0 are like "so, uh... it actually works". People were really hyped for Kinect 1.0 and its possibilities before the launch, and looks like 2.0 its making those wishes to come true.
@zintarr It's like telling Sony to get rid of the trackpad on the DS4. It's part of the system and if you don't like it, you're not the target audience.
@dillon-peters How do you know it doesn't spy you? Sony has a bad history with security, you know. And that's for Europe only, to match the free Fifa Xbox bundle. You can thank MS for that.
@Dezuria @DVONvX @07wintert They're using the Skype codec here, the same codec Steam is also using. We have to wait to see what Sony will do about chat.
@Adavanter You know what is funny? PS3 being sold at $499 at launch vs. a $299 and a $399 Xbox 360. And if you do the math, Xbox One costs something like $30 more than a 360 comparing the times.
