I am sorry Halo 2 fans but any kind of aim assist, crazy hit boxes and the like is just lame. I would hate to play a game where I know that people only have to move there reticule near me to "lock on". When I play CS:S I know when someone kills me its because they either had a better aim or took advantage of a situation, not because they can move a crosshair sort of near me.

[QUOTE="flamingschmoes2"]Mario Galaxy compared to today's standards is honestly not very good looking. It looks like Gamecube to me, every time they post that same pic of Mario flying with his big nose in my face I get annoyed. Crackdown, a cel-shaded inspired game, still looks better. A cel-shaded game! inb4SSBSMGpics

What!!!!!!! A game running on a more powerful console has better graphics than one that is running on a less powerful console?!!!!!! STOP THE PRESS!!!!!!!! flaming has stumbled onto something here, please tell us flaming how did you ever manage to work that out?

I cannot imagine the horror in having all of the System Wars board grouped together. I can imagine however how 99% of you would get there

Unlike hardcore fanboys, I can see the humor in this. lol. I mean, only someone insecure with the Wii would actually be offended by this. I laughed a bit. but yeah.. they could have been executed a little better. :)

Note: I laughed at the weather channel one. lol.

Yeah this image is comedy genius, the wii has crap graphics and its for kiddies LOLZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen many a thing that has mocked Nintendo and has been funny. Unfortunately this image is not one of them.

Microsoft are going to ship 12 million by the end of June. That means at halfway through the year it is only possible for people to buy 12 million 360's. If you honestly think the 360 will sell 8 million in 6 months you are very sadly mistaken. 20 million at the year end is not impossible but its the same odds as me scoring with Jessica Alba and all your mothers in the same evening.

[QUOTE="colmusterd28"]BioWare is just way to smart, to fresh, to connected to what gamers want. Also, Original IP's are awesome and FF is getting old and busted... Your thoughts...SkyRaid
You obviously never played Jade Empire

Agreed I know some of the die hard XBox fans love it but lets face it Jade Empire was nowhere near KOTOR. I played both on the XBox, I finished KOTOR twice and frankly got very bored with Jade Empire and never finished it. Bioware are more than capable of making poor games every developer is, not saying that Mass Effect will turn out bad but there is always the chance.

[QUOTE="pundog"][QUOTE="akatsuki0wn3d"][QUOTE="pundog"]You might have heard of that little purple box called the gamecube...axt113
ok, so take the wii controls out, you still got yourself a huge slab of disappointment

I meant the gamecube was Nintendo's biggest dissapointment.

 no, that would be the virtual boy

Virtual Boy crashed and burned, Gamecube was amazing in comparison.

[QUOTE="asmallchild"]I take the opposite view (even though I am a Sony fan) I think MS's willingness to dump so much money, time, and effort into this project means they're in it to win. Even if it turns out to be a monopoly, you can be assured that the product you're getting is going to be a fine one. Look how much improvement they've shown in just two generations of systems. I was an owner of the original Xbox and the only reason why I went back to Sony for the PS3 is due to hardware issues with the Xbox360. But I don't think you can argue that MS's gameplan this time around for online environment, getting the year jump start, and amassing a huge game library is anything short of brilliant. Should they iron out the hardware flaws for the next generation, I have no doubt I'll be owning one of their systems again.

Monopolies are never a good thing no matter what company has it. Monopolies mean a company will get lazy because they can. They can spend less money and invest less time in it. If you want to look at an example just have a look at Microsofts operating systems. I just use MS OS but even I admit they are incredibly lazy. They have ripped off OSX and some of the Linux packages GUI designs. They have added a ribbon bar to the office applications but that is hardly an incredible leap forward. It also annoys the crap out of me that they have yet to follow W3C standards for Internet Explorer, as a web developer this can be a time consuming annoyance. Vista still has security leaks as well. They can do all this crap because they have a 90+% market share so they really dont have to bother much really. Now imagine if they had a monopoly in gaming, does not sound pretty does it. A gaming monopoly would be bad if any company had it.

[QUOTE="pundog"][QUOTE="Japanese_Monk"]Heres some new that might upset you..... http://www.theabovedomain.com/cms/content/view/81/2/ ews just reaching us via some inside sources indicates that there will actually now be two 'seasons' of HALO 3 Beta testing. The first season will be for all the lucky competition winners and then a second season for those that have purchased Crackdown. The first season is expected to start on March 21 and the second season is due to end in June. So chances are if you intend to participate via Crackdown you will only be playing the Beta in May, after all the winners. The source of this news (Gamertag: Xboxportugal) has previously been first to reveal screenshots form Halo 3 so we are pretty confident that his forum post is pretty accurate information.

Doubt it, thie idea of a beta is to get as much feedback from users as possible to improve the final product, using "seasons" only limits the purpose of the beta.

I take it you have not participated in beta's before. You have a small test for x period of time working through some of the gameplay tweaks etc. and before the game is released you have as many people as possible playing for server stress tests to see if things hold up with lots of traffic. I would not be surprised if they have a general admission for whoever wants to participate, getting Crackdown just means you are "Guaranteed" a place.

The purpose of a beta test is to gain feedback and testing, allowing millions of people to give feedback would be very unwise. You start the beta test with a relatively small amount of players to give you feedback then you open up the beta before the product is released to make sure the servers can handle the stress and all the little bugs have been squashed. This is how it works in MMO's and although you dont have dedicated servers in Halo 3 they will use it to test the matchmaking server etc.

Barry from Resident Evil 1 wins the prize for worst voice actor (although they were all pretty bad). Most annoying newcomer goes to stupid woman from Mass Effect whos voice makes you want to cheese grater your brain.
