There are some big limitations (there is a limit on max amount of money, much fewer xp than subscribers, no bank slots, some stuff like mount (speeder) gained much later), but it is quite easy to gain money and there are many workaround tactics against those limitations).

IMO not a big deal.

From what i read in this article Ys Net told the backers that the Kickstarter rewards would be exclusive.

So since the vote was inconclusive, Ys Net decided to honor their original plan and their original promise.
