this was me in the summer of last year, and about as 'rad' as i can be without involving maths.

i have 3 different HDDs near my subwoofer (which is a 300-600W Z-5500, and makes everything vibrate) and i havnt had a problem yet.
ive been meaning to try and break a glass with my speakers, and now i might try a HDD too.
[QUOTE="Gigagamer2"]You call yourself an audiophile but your last sentence busted you. Any good pair of IEM (I'm talking some Shure, Ultimate Ears, Etymotic...) would let you tell the difference between a well ripped MP3 and a lossless file. And how is FLAC an "obscure" format when it is the most widely used lossless codec? :?i am would people would call an 'audiophile' and i still live with an iPod Touch as my portable player. Whilst i dont like itunes much (mainly because i like obscure music formats such as FLAC, DTS, surround channel WAV and the fact its slow) i love the way the touch works and it has lots of useful features such as wifi and app downloads. Not only that, but to get decent audio quality from a portable device (im talking the difference between 320kbps mp3 and lossless here) is almost impossible due to several hardware limiting factors. also i am not using my large HD555 headphones with my ipod, they are too big and leak too much sound for outdoor use. To hear the difference between decently encoded mp3s versus lossless on small earphones, even a decent pair is impossible.

1, the earphones you listed can become very expensive, im talking decent as in no more than £40 (my cx-300 less than £20 but still very good). Ive listened to my friends shure earphones, and whilst they sound very nice, i dont want to spend that much money on something portable (better mp3 player included) when im only 17 and pretty poor (student life ). I have seen some good deals on shure earphones, but again im satisfied with my ipod as it is, and i cant be bothered to convert my flacs to alacs
2, I had a feeling someone would say something about FLACs not being obscure, but flacs are obscure enough not to be supported by the major media players, itunes, wmp etc and most portable players dont support it either. Not that this matters to me, i use winamp except for ipod sync which is done in itunes
I could also ask most of my friends (well, outer friends, im with the nerds) what a flac is and they wouldnt know. Hell most wouldnt know wav beyond 'it's used for some windows sound files'.
its nice though that flacs are becoming more popular, flacs are useful in many situations

1. Your son/daughter, 5 years old, asks you: Where do babies come from?
very watered down version of the truth
2. You have just caught your daughter, 16 years old, having sex with her boyfriend. She comes down to where you are twenty minutes later and looks straight at you.
apologise, say its normal, hopefully i would have already giver her the talk by then.
3. You walk into the room of your son, 19 years old, and he's wearing a dress, make-up, and a blonde wig.
say 'not interrupting anything am i? dont worry' then carry on as normal. maybe ask him about it later.

if your not desparate for a new ipod now, you can wait a little while whilst the new ipods come out with the 3.0 software update. It will save you hastle and a little bit of money.
my internet was down for 24hours last week at some point, and i was missing the internet at lot, as i use live messenger heavily, and i dont text at all (no credit anyway). Thank goodness i had the Shawshank Redemption and some random anime to watch. and karate.
We drink ever so large amounts of tea old chap, often with spiffing amounts of crumpets. We also have an ever so bothersome habit of trying to take over the world dare I say. Silent-Hal
ah i remember years ago when i was playing unreal tournament 2004 (invasion online), i said "brb, im having crumpets."
i got quite a reaction from a lot of people, mainly laughing
and another time on counter strike, someone said i "have the quintessential british voice". Im from one area of england where we dont have much of an accent at all, so i was a little shocked with that.
but i agree with the statement that we make perfect villains. Just look at bond and other films (In Bruges is a good example)
