So,on my painful sick day from school I decided to watch the entire Nightmare on Elm St series.(except,if you counted it,Freddy Vs. Jason.)Well, here's my impressions of each.I'm assuming you know the basic premise and Main character of the films writing it,like you should.:p
A nightmare on Elm Street.I had seen this one previously, and it's still one of my favorite films. Is it me or does Englund (Freddy)sound higher-pitched here?
2 Freddy's revenge :Blech.disgusting,perverse,barely sensical,unfaithful sequel.
3 Dream Warriors :The premise seems abit out of place considering dreams are centered on the self for the most part.Something seemed off in the manner that the Psychiatrists are portrayed. The Nightmares portrayed in this film seem the strangest to me.Craven did well enough considering the restrictions placed on him,but that fact doesn't make it good.
4 The Dream Master:Plenty of Intestinally displeasing Nightmares featured here.Acting was awkward too.Tried too hard to extendthe dreamworld in a superfluousmanner.NEXT!
5 The Dream Child:First Nightmare was freaky, but that's(far) more than likely the Pediophobia mixed with Freddy's disfigured features. While Freddy started becoming a rather absurd character by the...4th? (Maybe the latter half of the third) It starts to get abit worse here.(Serial killers are depicted as silent and calculating for a reason ,people!) And one of the main characters("The kid",for spoiler reasons, even though the film's been out fornearly 20 years) has a really weird personality development that doesn't make much sense.
6 Freddy's Dead:The final Nightmare:Worse than the second, this is where the whole problem with Freddy that I mentioned above hits a head.If you can stomach it(it's graphic, and abit long.)Watch this clip, just watch it from 0:45 to 5:26...

Do not tell me with a straight face that this has any place in a slasher film,I may well send the Pokemob to smite you for it.I'm not watching aprofessed spoof,at least not that I recall.
The very existence of the heroine in the film makes Freddy seem contradictory in character, and let's not start with the stale cast.(Except of Course Robert Englund, who plays Freddy himself.Despite the downturn in thecharacter,he still does a good job.)
Wes Craven'sNew Nightmare:A throwback (and one of the best films) to the original,it takes a drastic turn to a somewhatunconventional (at the time it was made) plot with a much more fitting attitude for Freddy. The film also does well with making people think about the mind, quoting Roger Ebert: ""I haven't been exactly a fan of the Nightmare series, but I found this movie, with its unsettling questions about the effect of horror on those who create it, strangely intriguing."
I'm amazed I managed to sit still for so long.xD Well, this is probably the only blog of it's kind for a long while,so if you have any interest in films, you may want to post.
