[QUOTE="GodHatesYankees"][QUOTE="subrosian"][QUOTE="IronMaidenLives"] [QUOTE="subrosian"]Wow... another person bashing hardcore gamers. Congratulations. It's like a mob of fat people at McDonald's shouting "oh yeah well, I don't care that this is garbage food! You're arrogant for eating good, healthy, tasty food! Food is food! Stop pretending your extensive knowledge of nutrtion gives you the right to eat healthy, or critize me for being a lardbutt"
M'kay well, you enjoy playing Mario Party 8 or whatever on your Wii...

I never mentioned the Wii.
Try reading better.
I have read better IronMaidenLives... I've read your posting history *quite well* - you think the Wii is the only system for a "true gamer" - so don't try and get out of this by pretending this isn't a discussion about the Wii. This is about the Wii, this is about the casual market, and this is about the impact both have on hardcore gaming.
If you want to try and prove to me how the Wii lead companies that make hardcore games to notch up their games, I'd love to see it. I would love to see the developer interview where Dyack says "well, we saw the Wii and thought, y'know, we should do a hardcore, turn-based, narrative-driven, character development based, free-roaming, ****c RPG, something that the Wii fanbase would really have trouble appreciating. We kept things like alcohol use, sex, drug use, and tobacco use in the game, because we value artistic integrity over trying to sound like another TRUTH ad. This game isn't rated "M" because of violence, it's just because it's such an honest hardcore title".
Really... please send me the link, because all I see are titles being dumbed down left and right - and dumbed down further for the Wii - or does the new genre of ON RAILS hack-n-slash created for Dragon Quest Swords suit you?
Don't you love it when guys like this tell you what the topic is about when it clearly isn't about what they say it is? Very pathetic.
BTW, I agree with the TC 100%.
So I'm changing the topic, he still hasn't demonstrated how the Wii improves hardcore gaming.... which is the challenge he keeps wriggling out of . Fine, it's not the topic, it's related, answer the question directly, or prove to me that you don't have an answer, it's your choice.
In fact, the topic is about casuals, so here's my "on-topic" question. How do casuals improve the quality of hardcore titles for hardcore gamers?
How can casuals improve something that they have no handle on? Do casuals make these games or something?
