Wow, I didn't think this thread would take off like this when I made it.

But I've read through it, and thanks for the input. I think that I said this way back in the first couple of pages... The 360 is better only when it's connected to a PC. But if your not then the PS3 is the better stand alone console for media. I think that casuals prolly don't even know how to network all of their machines in their houses yet. And you need wifi for the 360 to be able to stream everything.

I just figured out how to network all my computers together so I'm sure a lot of people aren't using that function for MS. And if streaming from your PC is that important, is buying the premium pack a must? You guys made it seem like you don't use the harddrive at all for the 360.

I also feel like you all who aren't backing PS3 don't know how much they can improve the console. I have a PSP and I've had it since it came out, and if they PS3 gets updated like the PSP then I'm sure that the potential is limitless with the PS3. For instance, the internet browser will be improved over time with the updates.

This is going to sound really stupid...really really stupid....but forgive me, I have to get it off my chest:

Every video I've seen of MLB:The Show has these characters with really short arms. I mean, it's bugging the hell out of me (as a modeler and artist) that no one caught that during development. Whew. Okay, having said that, I don't own the game but if it plays better than 2K7, I may rent it when I have pals over.

Teyon

Haha, I didn't notice that yet.  I'll look for it next time I play.  But really the only gripes that you'll have about the game is prolly the visuals.   But if you have a HDTV it prolly looks way better.  I haven't seen it on one but I'm dyin' to see the difference.

They didn't have to give everybody the same pair of cleets either, but these are small things I can get over.  I remember on MVP05 I hated the fact that the catcher didn't throw the ball back to the mound after a pitch.  That really irked me.  On The Show they warm up between innings and throw the ball around the in field on strike outs and plays in the field.  They really tried to capture the feel of a real MLB game.  Players can get ejected too for arguing calls.

I used to be like you. I thought that MVP was untouchable compared to the competition. But let me tell you, The Show is the real deal. The guess pitch hitting system is pretty tight. You can really read predictable patterns from friends over time and the computer during the game. I bought MLB The Show 06 last year for PSP, and it was just great, so I was really looking forward to 07. I played 2k7 on both PS3 and 360... and I can't front 2k7's graphics are amazing. I haven't seen The Show's visuals on a HDTV but if you want a great all around baseball game then you can't miss with this one. The one thing that you'll notice is how the game pays attention to detail. You'll notice these things if you've played baseball or went to a Major League game before.

The graphics are a bit underwhelming on a standard TV. But the gameplay is tight and online is nice. Keeps you connected to live MLB scores and games.
