Uh, you do realize that E3 is a trade show and business conference, right? They should have showed more sales numbers last year.

It was like....
Bald Xbox guy: So from this point forth, every title we show will be an Xbox 360 exclusive!
**5 minutes later**
Bald Xbox guy: So here's Left 4 Dead 2....
:o
Uh, Microsoft doesn't have any dedicated servers anyways. Any "crap online" would be the result of peer internet connections, which microsoft can't control. In fact, the only dedicated server online games on Xbox 360 are all 3rd party (EASports Online, and Play Online [Final Fantasy XI]) all of the protocals, are built using live, and all the connections are used via live, a company can make dedicated servers and still make total crap netcode, this is why live is different through psn, ALL of the netcode is built by M$ regardless of whether or not you use a dedicated server or peer to peer. No. All Xbox live does is point Xbox users to peer to peer matchmaking systems. IE. In UFC 2009, Xbox live points players to Gamespy's UFC 2009 Online system. It's the same matchmaking system that PSN users were using.[QUOTE="GordonRamsay23"][QUOTE="savagetwinkie"] its quality control, taking the design away from dev's means games won't have crap online, and all the features are as good as teh next game on the console, your paying for standardization and quality, ps3 you don't get this. doesn't mean games can't totally F*** up though, i'm looking at you gears of war !savagetwinkie
[QUOTE="emorainbo"]well I cant speak for everyone here, but I am not a game developer so I dont really care if game developers have to add feature to their games.[QUOTE="savagetwinkie"] M$ doesn't nearly milk customers as most would think, the online has a platform and features that games are built ON, where sony gives the bare minimum and expects the dev's to add what features they want in, match making and voice chat in a single game are all done through M$ for example, on ps3 thats coded by individual dev's for their games. This is a fair price as far as i'm concerned since the ENTIRE network through live is built on M$'s platform. Sony doesn't make peripherals, and hardware happens to have an incredibly slim margin so M$ made it propietary to make it profitable, those aren't really necessities for gaming and how is it milking if they are just pricy one time purchases, that would be like saying buying a $600 system is the ultimate milkage then... I'm not going to deny they are pricey, but i'm going to say customers seem to feel privalaged now adays like company's owe them something, M$ is a good business, they make money, and take care of their mistakes like RROD.savagetwinkie
As far as prices for peripherals go:
1. MS doesnt allow any kind of 3rd part perphs. and there harddives etc. are much more expensive than the competition
2. Yes the PS3 launched with a high price tag but Sony was taking like a $200 loss on each console sold. I guess you could argue its "milkage" in that they are trying to squeeze as much money from each console but can you honestly condemn them for that?

In fact, the only dedicated server online games on Xbox 360 are all 3rd party (EASports Online, and Play Online [Final Fantasy XI])The problem is that you are paying 50 bucks to use the exact same service as Playstation users who play for free. And by "exact same", I literally mean, the exact same. IE. Xbox users use the exact same matchmaking service for Call of Duty 4 as PSN users. The only difference is... Xbox users pay 50 bucks a year to Microsoft, who ironically have nothing to do with the running of the Call of Duty 4 matchmaking service. You pay 50 bucks a year to play all the Xbox 360's online enabled games (excluding MMORPGs). So I do not see what the problem is.
