It does NOT cost 50 dollars a year t use the Gamespy peer to peer network. It costs 50 dollars a year to subscribe to Xbox Live which entitles you to online play for all games. Please don't spin it
Secondly, there are adapters for the 360 as well that allow you to play with the dualshock.

Well if you choose to not see the difference, then thats your own problem. And yes, you can use the PS3 controller with the Xbox. You just need to plug it in through USB rather than bluetooth, so you better edit that in your post.
Link for USB adapter that will let you use the DS3 controller on the Xbox 360? Because plugging the DS3 straight into the Xbox 360 won't work.
