there are a few formulas for calculating the distance you should sit from your TV for optimum viewing, the one I've seen is for every diagonal inch on your TV you should be a distance of 2.5 inches. for example a 40 inch TV should put you roughly 8 feet 4 inches away. 40 inches * 2.5 = 100inches / 12 = 8 feet 4 inches. cut and paste this into your browser http://www.jakeludington.com/archives/000538.html its toward the bottom of the page with a "1" in front of the paragraph

teebeenz, that may be true but it is still a great way to get a basic understanding of game making and coding, say before you move on to C++ or OpenGL. The Chilean game developer that made assault heroes just got picked up by Vivendi (its one of the news articles on GS) and the lead developer became head of Serra Online South America, so it can get your foot in the door as far as a career in the industry if you're really interested and motivated to make games but don't know an outlet through which to get there.

I have a mild background in C++ and Java, and I looked at some of the coding on a site and if you understand basic programming you can do a lot. its not a big jump to C#. Speaking of that site I'll try to find a link, the site owner wrote code, that any one is allowed to use, to create fluid game animations, so there is free code out there that you can use to help make your game. as well as basic tutorials on sites to teach you how to code for an XNA game

If you have the money go for a monster cable, they have a life time warranty, they NEVER wear out and if they do its replaced for free. Like a previous post said their sturdy, its near impossible to sever the cable. and they use the most conductive materials in the cable for the best signal and the image you see is only as good as the signal between whats sending the image and whats displaying the image, if you have a PS3 because its a graphics beast and you want to see that in your HDTV go for the best cable.

They do it for a reason, whether you think its a good thing is besides the point. They do it to attact gamers to live, Microsoft's big advantage over PS3 is live and so they want to get as many people on live as possible. Developers and Publisher want you to play on-line because that increases that chances of you buying the game. The common trend is a 10 hour single player game with no multi-player doesn't not sell well, and a 10 hour game with great multi-player that no one plays does equally well, so to sell games they have to entice you to play their multi-player and they do that through achievements.

I'm on my first and have never had a problem with it, I've even played for 40 hours in 3 days (I rented the godfather) without it overheating once so even after continued 13 hour a day usage it was fine.

did you notice on the poll about prizes for achievement points, one of the choices is "I'm not running through Fuzion Frenzy 2 just for those prizes. Not worth the effort."

yet one of the prizes for doing the competition is Fuzion Frenzy 2 (if you have 10,000 gamer score)
