I was just wondering what you thought about gamespot's reviews lately. I think they are getting harsher on games and thats a good thing. Most people think that a game that scores below a 7 is garbage, but if you think about it middle of the road average should land at 5.0 so a game with 5.5 is above average. I think a lot of people here want what they think of a game justified by a professional and if they are justified by the professional reviewer, that makes them feel good about themselves. For instance any game that they receive even minimal amounts of enjoyment from should be scored between 8 and 9. For instance shadowrun scored 6.9 (lets say its a 7 under the new system making it a "good" game) yet people complained because they wanted their enjoyment to be justified by a big fat 8/10. what they don't realize is you can and probably will enjoy anything that scores over a 5.0 to some degree. the other problem is most games don't actually play that many games so they have no context with which to decide if a game is good or bad in many circumstances. Where as a game reviewer plays so many video games that they do become jaded and harsh because its their job, you don't have to play the awful games based on movies but they HAVE to and then give their opinion about it.

for the 360 or other wise. it can be a stand alone game, an entire series or only one game out of a series or a series minus certian titles, BUT PLEASE LIMIT YOURSELF TO 5. Top 5 and I mean it, No ties, don't post one game or ten games its 5 or nothing. make qoutes and comments after your list. the last rule is less strict, I would prefer your list of Favorite series of all time but if you throw in your current favorites thats fine but mention which one it is if you can.

For Example my personal top 5 of all time.

1) The Elder Scrolls 3 & 4 (morrowind and oblivion) I'm not petty enough to let a few design choices I didn't like in oblivion to take away from an otherwise awe inspiring game. If monsters auto-leveling ruined this game for you, then yes you are petty. I've got oblivion for PC and 360

2) Total War: Rome and Medieval 2 (Rome was one of the Reasons I failed out of college)

3) the entire Thief series (dark project, metal age and deadly shadows) I plan on naming my first son Garret after the main character of the this game. I've got deadly shadows for PC and Xbox

4) Hitman 2, 3 and 4. Too bad 47 would make an awful name other wise that would be my second kid's name, I have blood money for PC and 360

5) This one is the hardest to choose. Even though I love the halo series and was actually pretty good at it (I won a campus competition) and counter strike: source was the other reason I failed out of school; I couldn't put it down. 5th place is going to the original perfect drug. The Diablo series. it was the first dungeon crawl game that blew me away.

Comment: Notice that I mention halo & counter strike but ultimately choose Diablo thats important, I don't mind you mentioning a tough decision but you have to choose one in the end. quick blurb on each series is cool but try to keep it concise. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST games that have been released, I'm looking forward to Assassin's Creed and Spore as much as you are but this is for games you've actually played.

Haha, I read the review and thought to myself: "I think I'll go to the 360 forums at GS, I bet that there are at least a few threads about this review already up." And sure enough.... I agree with this review from what I've seen of the game. Also it's another 8-10 hour FPS... yay.Hopefully the Transformers turns out well... I want to pick up one game this week....
