There's hardly any uproar when BF showcases a bunch of white men, but they throw a little variety in there and it's all "OMG SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS ARE OUT TO GET US". You can CHOOSE what you want to play as so I don't really see how it affects your personal experience with the game? And while I do personally enjoy the variety, from a more cynical point of view DICE/EA will want to broaden their audience to women if they can help it because it means more dollars in the bank.
@bobafetthatesu: You misunderstand. I actually have zero problems with cross platform play or IP originating on PC travelling to the Xbox One; doesn't bother me in the slightest. What I am highlighting, and what I do have a problem with, is the very real hypocrisy in this scenario whereby lots of Xbox One gamers have thrown toys out of their pram to voice their concerns.
I feel like I'm making a very fair observation :).
It's interesting because I feel that we, as PC gamers, are often pressured into sharing our games with the console community. Even if something starts off as PC exclusive it ALMOST always goes onto console at some point. Now that this is happening in reverse it feels weird to me that Xbox One fans are getting on their high horses about ownership as if they're losing a grip on their portfolio of games, even though PC gamers have been accustomed to that very same treatment for years.
I think it's counter productive to say things like 'oh I understand where X1 fans are coming from' when really it's obscenely hypocritical for them to take that stance in the first place.
1) The idea that they are giving more to PC players is BOLLOCKS
2) Microsoft is a company which has total freedom to do what it wants with Windows OS across all platforms (which is actually its main business)
3) Xbox owners are obviously just bitching just because Phil Spencer has rightly said that they need to do more for Windows because what they've done thus far is pretty shite
Battlefront, selling at £50 on Origin, is a prime example of a game that EA has released with the smallest content to cost ratio in the history of the universe. How can ANYONE think that EA is anything but greedy?
