For one thing, I didn't think any of the atrocities seen when Kazumi says "who knows what Heihachi will do to countless others?" were due to Heihachi (except maybe Leo's mother's death). In fact, one of them was Jin's fault.
However, what's interesting is that in the first trailer, I thought the guy standing in the doorway behind Kazumi was Kazuya. Turns out it must be a new character.
You're right, Danny. Demos were brilliant. I miss them.
Not much more to say about them than that because unless you were there to actually use demo disks, you can't really understand the feeling of it. It wasn't as big a deal as getting a new game, of course, but it was enjoyable to have tasters of a bunch of different games every month.
Plus, remember Net Yaroze? For those who don't know, it was game development hardware/software for the PS1 and the Official Playstation Magazine used to put a Net Yaroze game on each of their disks. Most of them were bad -- just remaks of things like Breakout -- but there was one great one called Terra Incognita that was 3D and even had two different endings.
This is the kind of thing that puts me off buying a new PC. The knowledge that it'll never be good enough while I know that consoles will be for the next ten years.
That and cost. "Oh, what's that PC gamer? Bragging about how your 'rig' is so much better than a console? Well yes, because it cost five times more than a console and five years from now, it'll be incredibly outdated."
You know, if feminists praised existing female characters as much as they complain about games not having any (or whining about existing ones), it would give developers more of an incentive to add female characters into games in the first place. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
